Boundaries of Canaan
34 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan,(A) the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance(B) is to have these boundaries:(C)
3 “‘Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin(D) along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea,(E) 4 cross south of Scorpion Pass,(F) continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea.(G) Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon,(H) 5 where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt(I) and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
6 “‘Your western boundary will be the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.(J) This will be your boundary on the west.(K)
7 “‘For your northern boundary,(L) run a line from the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Hor(M) 8 and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath.(N) Then the boundary will go to Zedad, 9 continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
10 “‘For your eastern boundary,(O) run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham. 11 The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah(P) on the east side of Ain(Q) and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.[a](R) 12 Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea.
“‘This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.’”
13 Moses commanded the Israelites: “Assign this land by lot(S) as an inheritance.(T) The Lord has ordered that it be given to the nine and a half tribes, 14 because the families of the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.(U) 15 These two and a half tribes have received their inheritance east of the Jordan across from Jericho, toward the sunrise.”
16 The Lord said to Moses, 17 “These are the names of the men who are to assign the land for you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua(V) son of Nun. 18 And appoint one leader from each tribe to help(W) assign the land.(X) 19 These are their names:(Y)
Caleb(Z) son of Jephunneh,
from the tribe of Judah;(AA)
20 Shemuel son of Ammihud,
from the tribe of Simeon;(AB)
21 Elidad son of Kislon,
from the tribe of Benjamin;(AC)
22 Bukki son of Jogli,
the leader from the tribe of Dan;
23 Hanniel son of Ephod,
the leader from the tribe of Manasseh(AD) son of Joseph;
24 Kemuel son of Shiphtan,
the leader from the tribe of Ephraim(AE) son of Joseph;
25 Elizaphan son of Parnak,
the leader from the tribe of Zebulun;(AF)
26 Paltiel son of Azzan,
the leader from the tribe of Issachar;
27 Ahihud son of Shelomi,
the leader from the tribe of Asher;(AG)
28 Pedahel son of Ammihud,
the leader from the tribe of Naphtali.”
29 These are the men the Lord commanded to assign the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.(AH)

3 Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward:
4 And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon:
5 And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.
6 And as for the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border.
7 And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:
8 From mount Hor ye shall point out your border unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:
9 And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.
10 And ye shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham:
11 And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward:
12 And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about.
13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the Lord commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:
14 For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance:
15 The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan near Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising.
16 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
17 These are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.
18 And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.
19 And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
20 And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.
21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.
22 And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli.
23 The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
24 And the prince of the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.
25 And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.
26 And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan.
27 And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.
28 And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.
29 These are they whom the Lord commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

34 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
2 Gebiete den Kindern Israel und sprich zu ihnen: Wenn ihr ins Land Kanaan kommt, so soll dies das Land sein, das euch zum Erbteil fällt, das Land Kanaan nach seinen Grenzen.
3 Die Ecke gegen Mittag soll anfangen an der Wüste Zin bei Edom, daß eure Grenze gegen Mittag sei vom Ende des Salzmeeres, das gegen Morgen liegt,
4 und das die Grenze sich lenke mittagwärts von der Steige Akrabbim und gehe durch Zin, und ihr Ausgang sei mittagwärts von Kades-Barnea und gelange zum Dorf Adar und gehe durch Azmon
5 und lenke sich von Azmon an den Bach Ägyptens, und ihr Ende sei an dem Meer.
6 Aber die Grenze gegen Abend soll diese sein, nämlich das große Meer. Das sei eure Grenze gegen Abend.
7 Die Grenze gegen Mitternacht soll diese sein: ihr sollt messen von dem großen Meer bis an den Berg Hor,
8 und von dem Berg Hor messen, bis man kommt gen Hamath, das der Ausgang der Grenze sei gen Zedad
9 und die Grenze ausgehe gen Siphron und ihr Ende sei am Dorf Enan. Das sei eure Grenze gegen Mitternacht.
10 Und sollt messen die Grenze gegen Morgen vom Dorf Enan gen Sepham,
11 und die Grenze gehe herab von Sepham gen Ribla morgenwärts von Ain; darnach gehe sie herab und lenke sich an die Seite des Meers Kinneret gegen Morgen
12 und komme herab an den Jordan, daß ihr Ende sei das Salzmeer. Das sei euer Land mit seiner Grenze umher.
13 Und Mose gebot den Kindern Israel und sprach: Das ist das Land, das ihr durchs Los unter euch teilen sollt, das der HERR geboten hat den neun Stämmen und dem halben Stamm zu geben.
14 Denn der Stamm der Kinder Ruben nach ihren Vaterhäusern und der halbe Stamm Manasse haben ihr Teil genommen.
15 Also haben zwei Stämme und der halbe Stamm ihr Erbteil dahin, diesseit des Jordans gegenüber Jericho gegen Morgen.
16 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
17 Das sind die Namen der Männer, die das Land unter euch teilen sollen: der Priester Eleasar und Josua, der Sohn Nuns.
18 Dazu sollt ihr nehmen von einem jeglichen Stamm einen Fürsten, das Land auszuteilen.
19 Und das sind der Männer Namen: Kaleb, der Sohn Jephunnes, des Stammes Juda;
20 Samuel, der Sohn Ammihuds, des Stammes Simeon;
21 Elidad, der Sohn Chislons, des Stammes Benjamin;
22 Bukki, der Sohn Joglis, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Dan;
23 Hanniel, der Sohn Ephods, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Manasse, von den Kindern Joseph;
24 Kemuel, der Sohn Siphtans, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Ephraim;
25 Elizaphan, der Sohn Parnachs, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Sebulon;
26 Paltiel, der Sohn Assans, der Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Isaschar;
27 Ahihud, der Sohn Selomis, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Asser;
28 Pedahel, der Sohn Ammihuds, Fürst des Stammes der Kinder Naphthali.
29 Dies sind die, denen der HERR gebot, daß sie den Kindern Israel Erbe austeilten im Lande Kanaan.
