Daily Offerings

28 The Lord said to Moses, “Give this command to the ·Israelites [L sons/T children of Israel]. Tell them: ‘Bring me food offerings made by fire, for a smell that is pleasing to me, and be sure to bring them at the ·right [appointed] time.’ Say to them, ‘These are the offerings you must bring to the Lord: two male lambs, a year old, as a burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] each day. They must have ·nothing wrong with them [no blemish]. Offer one lamb in the morning and the other lamb ·at twilight [L between the two evenings]. Also bring a ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1] of ·two quarts [L one-tenth of an ephah] of ·fine [choice] flour, mixed with ·one quart [L one-fourth of a hin] of oil from pressed olives. This is the daily burnt offering [Lev. 1:1–17] which began at Mount Sinai; its smell is pleasing to the Lord. Offer ·one quart [L one-fourth of a hin] of wine with each lamb as a drink offering; pour it out to the Lord at the Holy Place. Offer the second lamb at ·twilight [L between the two evenings]. As in the morning, also give a ·grain [L gift; tribute] offering [Lev. 2:1] and a drink offering. This offering is made by fire, and its smell is pleasing to the Lord [Ex. 29:38–43].

Laws for Offerings

28 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Command the Israelites and say to them, ‘You shall be careful to present at its appointed time [during the year] My offering, My food for My offerings by fire as a sweet and soothing aroma to Me.’ You shall say to the people, ‘This is the offering by fire which you shall present to the Lord every day: two male lambs one year old without blemish as a continual burnt offering. You shall offer one lamb in the morning and you shall offer the other lamb at twilight, also a tenth of an ephah of finely-milled flour as a grain offering, mixed with a fourth of a hin of pressed oil. It is a continual burnt offering which was ordained on Mount Sinai as a sweet and soothing aroma, an offering by fire to the Lord. Its drink offering shall be a fourth of a hin for each lamb, in the holy place you shall pour out a strong drink offering to the Lord. The other lamb you shall offer at twilight; as the grain offering of the morning and as its drink offering, you shall offer it, an offering by fire, a sweet and soothing aroma to the Lord.
