Numbers 26:51-56

51 These are those who were counted of the children of Israel, six hundred one thousand seven hundred thirty.
52 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 53 “To these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names. 54 To the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance. To everyone according to those who were counted of him shall his inheritance be given. 55 Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot. According to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit. 56 According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.”

51 This was the number of the Israelites enrolled: six hundred and one thousand seven hundred thirty.
52 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 53 “To these the land shall be apportioned for inheritance according to the number of names.(A) 54 To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance; every tribe shall be given its inheritance according to its enrollment.(B) 55 But the land shall be apportioned by lot; according to the names of their ancestral tribes they shall inherit.(C) 56 Their inheritance shall be apportioned according to lot between the larger and the smaller.”
