Numbers 26:3

³So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the rift valley plains^[a] of Moab, along the Jordan River^[b] across from Jericho. They said,

Numbers 26:3 tn The term עַרְבוֹת (ʿar^evot) refers to the sloping plain of the rift valley basin to the north of the Dead Sea and east of the Jordan. See the note at Num 21:1.
Numbers 26:3 tn The word “River” is not in the Hebrew text, but has been supplied in the translation for clarity (also in v. 62).
