Balaam’s Third Prophecy
24 When Balaam noticed that the Lord was pleased that Balaam was blessing Israel, he didn’t behave as he had time after time before, that is, to practice divination. Instead, he turned with his face to the wilderness, 2 looked up, and saw Israel encamped in their respective tribal order. Just then, the spirit of God came upon him. 3 Balaam uttered this prophetic statement:
“A declaration by Beor’s son Balaam,
a declaration by the strong, blind man.[a]
4 A declaration from one who hears what God has to say,
who saw the vision that the Almighty revealed,
who keeps stumbling
with open eyes.
5 Jacob, your tents are so fine,
as well as your dwelling places,[b] O Israel!
6 They’re spread out like valleys,
like gardens along river banks,
like aloe planted by the Lord,
or like cedars beside water.
7 He will pour water from his buckets,
and his descendants will stream forth like abundant water.
His king will be more exalted than Agag
when he exalts his own kingdom.
8 God is bringing them[c] out of Egypt
with the strength of an ox.
He’ll devour enemy nations,
break their bones,
and impale them with arrows.
9 He crouches, laying low like a lion.
Who would awaken him?
Those who bless you are blessed,
and those who curse you are cursed.”
10 Balak flew into a rage and he started hitting his fists together. “I called you to curse my enemies,” he yelled at Balaam. “But look here! You’ve blessed them three times! 11 Now get out of here! I had promised you that I would definitely honor you, but now the Lord has kept me from doing that!”
12 But Balaam replied to Balak, “I told your messengers, 13 ‘Even if Balak gives me his palace[d] full of silver and gold, I won’t double-cross the command of the Lord and do anything—whether good or evil—on my own initiative, because I’m going to say whatever the Lord says.’ 14 Meanwhile, since I have to return to my people, come and listen while I tell you what this people will be doing to your people in the last days.”
Balaam’s Final Prophecies
15 Then Balaam[e] uttered this prophetic statement:
“The declaration by Beor’s son Balaam,
a declaration by the strong, blind man.
16 A declaration from one who hears what God has to say,
who knows what the Most High knows,
who saw the vision that the Almighty revealed,
who keeps stumbling with open eyes.
17 I can see him,
but not right now.
I observe him,
but from a distance.[f]
A star streams forth from Jacob;
a scepter arises from Israel.
He will crush Moab’s forehead,
along with all of Seth’s descendants.
18 Edom will be a conquered nation
and Seir will be Israel’s[g] defeated foe,
while Israel performs valiantly.
19 He will rule over Jacob,
annihilating those who survive in the city.”
20 Next, Balaam[h] looked directly at Amalek and then uttered this prophetic statement:
“Even though Amalek is an international leader,
his future is permanent destruction.”
21 Balaam also uttered this prophetic statement about the Kenites:[i]
“Your dwelling places are stable,
because your nest is carved in solid rock.
22 Nevertheless, Kain will be incinerated.
How long will it take until Asshur[j] takes you hostage?”
23 Finally, he uttered this prophetic statement:
“Ah, who can live,
unless God makes it happen?
24 Ships under control of Kittim will devastate Asshur and Eber,
until they are permanently destroyed.”
25 Then Balaam got up, returned to his country, and Balak went on his way.

Tercera profecía de Balaam
24 Cuando Balaam vio que agradaba al Señor bendecir a Israel, no fue como otras veces a buscar presagios(A), sino que puso su rostro hacia el desierto(B). 2 Y levantó Balaam sus ojos y vio a Israel acampado por tribus; y vino sobre él el Espíritu de Dios(C). 3 Y comenzando su discurso[a], dijo:
«(D)Oráculo de Balaam, hijo de Beor,
Y oráculo del hombre de ojos abiertos;
4 Oráculo del que escucha las palabras de Dios(E),
Del que ve la visión del Todopoderoso[b](F);
Caído, pero con los ojos descubiertos.
5 -»¡Cuán hermosas son tus tiendas, oh Jacob;
Tus moradas, oh Israel!
6 -»Como valles que se extienden,
Como jardines junto al río,
Como áloes(G) plantados por el Señor,
Como cedros junto a las aguas(H).
7 -»Agua correrá de sus baldes,
Y su simiente estará junto a muchas aguas;
Más grande que Agag(I) será su rey,
Y su reino será exaltado(J).
8 -»Dios lo saca de Egipto(K);
Es para Israel como los cuernos del búfalo.
Devorará a las naciones que son sus adversarios(L),
Y desmenuzará sus huesos,
Y los traspasará con sus flechas(M).
9 -»Se agazapa, se echa como león,
O como leona ¿quién se atreverá a despertarlo(N)?
Benditos los que te bendigan,
Y malditos los que te maldigan(O)».
Cuarta profecía
10 Entonces se encendió la ira de Balac contra Balaam, y palmoteando, dijo Balac a Balaam: «Te llamé para maldecir a mis enemigos, pero los has llenado de bendiciones estas tres veces. 11 Ahora pues, huye a tu lugar. Yo dije que te colmaría de honores, pero mira, el Señor te ha privado de honores». 12 Y Balaam dijo a Balac: «¿No les hablé yo también a los mensajeros que me enviaste(P) y les dije: 13 “Aunque Balac me diera su casa llena de plata y oro, no podría yo traspasar el mandamiento del Señor para hacer lo bueno o lo malo de mi propia iniciativa(Q). Lo que hable el Señor, eso hablaré(R)”? 14 Ahora, mira, me voy a mi pueblo; pero ven, y te advertiré lo que este pueblo hará(S) a tu pueblo en los días venideros». 15 Y comenzando su discurso[c], dijo:
«(T)Oráculo de Balaam, hijo de Beor,
Y oráculo del hombre de ojos abiertos.
16 -»Oráculo del que escucha las palabras de Dios,
Y conoce la sabiduría del Altísimo[d];
Del que ve la visión del Todopoderoso,
Caído, pero con los ojos descubiertos.
17 -»Lo veo, pero no ahora;
Lo contemplo, pero no cerca;
Una estrella saldrá de Jacob,
Y un cetro se levantará de Israel(U)
Que aplastará la frente de Moab
Y derrumbará a todos los hijos de Set(V).
18 -»Edom será una posesión(W),
También será una posesión Seir(X), su enemigo;
Mientras que Israel se conducirá con valor.
19 -»De Jacob saldrá el que tendrá dominio,
Y destruirá al remanente de la ciudad(Y)».
20 Al ver a Amalec, continuó su discurso[e], y dijo:
«Amalec fue la primera de las naciones,
Pero su fin será destrucción(Z)».
21 Después vio al quenita(AA), y continuó su discurso[f], y dijo:
«Perdurable es tu morada,
Y en la peña está puesto tu nido.
22 -»No obstante, el quenita será consumido;
¿Hasta cuándo te tendrá cautivo Asiria(AB)?».
23 Y continuando su discurso[g], dijo:
«¡Ay! ¿Quién puede vivir, si Dios no lo ha ordenado?
24 -»Pero las naves vendrán de la costa de Quitim(AC),
Y afligirán a Asiria y afligirán a Heber(AD);
Pero él también perecerá para siempre(AE)».
25 Entonces se levantó Balaam y se marchó, y volvió a su lugar(AF); también Balac se fue por su camino.

24 At nang makita ni Balaam na kinalugdan ng Panginoon na pagpalain ang Israel, ay hindi naparoon na gaya ng una na kumita ng pamahiin, kundi kaniyang itinitig ang kaniyang mukha sa dakong ilang.
2 At itinaas ni Balaam ang kaniyang mga mata, at kaniyang nakita ang Israel na tumatahan ayon sa kanilang mga lipi; at ang Espiritu ng Dios ay sumakaniya.
3 At kaniyang ibinadya ang kaniyang talinhaga, at sinabi, Si Balaam na anak ni Beor ay nagsabi, At ang lalaking napikit ang mga mata ay nagsabi;
4 Siya'y nagsabi na nakarinig ng mga salita ng Dios, Na nakakita ng pangitain ng Makapangyarihan sa lahat, Na nalulugmok at nakadilat ang kaniyang mga mata:
5 Pagka iinam ng iyong mga tolda, Oh Jacob, Ang iyong mga tabernakulo, Oh Israel!
6 Gaya ng mga libis na nalalatag, Gaya ng mga halamanan sa tabi ng ilog, Gaya ng linaloes na itinanim ng Panginoon, Gaya ng mga puno ng sedro sa siping ng tubig.
7 Tubig ay aagos mula sa kaniyang pang-igib, At ang kaniyang binhi ay matatatag sa maraming tubig, At ang kaniyang hari ay tataas ng higit kay Agag, At ang kaniyang kaharian ay mababantog.
8 Dios ang naglalabas sa kaniya sa Egipto; May lakas na gaya ng mabangis na toro: Kaniyang lalamunin ang mga bansa na kaniyang mga kaaway, At kaniyang pagwawaraywarayin ang kanilang mga buto, At palalagpasan sila ng kaniyang mga pana.
9 Siya'y yumuko, siya'y lumugmok na parang leon, At parang isang leong babae; sinong gigising sa kaniya? Pagpalain nawa yaong lahat na nagpapala sa iyo, At sumpain yaong lahat na sumusumpa sa iyo.
10 At ang galit ni Balac ay nagningas laban kay Balaam, at pinaghampas niya ang kaniyang mga kamay; at sinabi ni Balac kay Balaam, Tinawag kita upang iyong sumpain ang aking mga kaaway, at, narito, iyong binasbasan totoo sila nitong makaitlo.
11 Ngayon nga ay tumakas ka sa iyong sariling dako: aking inisip na itaas kita sa dakilang karangalan; nguni't, narito, pinigil ka ng Panginoon sa karangalan.
12 At sinabi ni Balaam kay Balac, Di ba sinalita ko rin sa iyong mga sugo na iyong sinugo sa akin, na sinasabi,
13 Kahit ibigay sa akin ni Balac ang kaniyang bahay na puno ng pilak at ginto, ay hindi ko masasalangsang ang salita ng Panginoon, na gumawa ako ng mabuti o masama sa aking sariling akala; kung ano nga ang salitain ng Panginoon, ay siya kong sasalitain?
14 At ngayon, narito, ako'y paroroon sa aking bayan: parito ka nga, at aking ipahahayag sa iyo ang gagawin ng bayang ito sa iyong bayan sa mga huling araw.
15 At kaniyang ibinadya ang kaniyang talinhaga, at sinabi, Nagsabi si Balaam na anak ni Beor, At ang lalaking napikit ang mga mata ay nagsabi;
16 Siya'y nagsabi, na nakarinig ng mga salita ng Dios, At nakaalam ng karunungan ng Kataastaasan, Na siyang nakakita ng pangitain ng Makapangyarihan sa lahat, Na nalulugmok at nakadilat ang kaniyang mga mata:
17 Aking makikita siya, nguni't hindi ngayon; Aking mapagmamasdan siya, nguni't hindi sa malapit: Lalabas ang isang bituin sa Jacob, At may isang setro na lilitaw sa Israel, At sasaktan ang mga sulok ng Moab, At lilipulin ang lahat ng mga anak ng kaguluhan.
18 At ang Edom ay magiging pag-aari niya. Ang Seir man ay magiging pag-aari niya, na siyang dating kaniyang mga kaaway; Samantalang ang Israel ay magpapakatapang.
19 At mula sa Jacob ay magkakaroon ng isang may kapangyarihan, At gigibain niya sa bayan ang nalalabi.
20 At kaniyang minasdan ang Amalec, at ibinadya ang kaniyang talinhaga, at sinabi, Ang Amalec ay siyang dating panguna sa mga bansa; Nguni't ang kaniyang huling wakas ay mapupuksa.
21 At kaniyang minasdan ang Cineo, at ibinadya ang kaniyang talinhaga, at sinabi, Matibay ang iyong dakong tahanan, At ang iyong pugad ay nalalapag sa malaking bato.
22 Gayon ma'y mawawasak ang Cain, Hanggang sa ikaw ay madalang bihag ng Assur.
23 At kaniyang ibinadya ang kaniyang talinhaga, at sinabi, Ay! sinong mabubuhay pagka ginawa ng Dios ito?
24 Datapuwa't ang mga sasakyan ay manggagaling sa baybayin ng Cittim. At kanilang pagdadalamhatiin ang Assur, at kanilang pagdadalamhatiin ang Eber, At siya man ay mapupuksa.
25 At si Balaam ay tumindig, at yumaon at bumalik sa kaniyang sariling dako: at si Balac naman ay yumaon ng kaniyang lakad.
