Chapter 2
Arrangement of the Tribes. 1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 2 The Israelites shall camp, each in their own divisions, under the ensigns of their ancestral houses.(A) They shall camp at some distance all around the tent of meeting.
3 [a]Encamped on the east side, toward the sunrise, shall be the divisional camp of Judah, arranged in companies. The leader of the Judahites is Nahshon, son of Amminadab, 4 and the enrollment of his company is seventy-four thousand six hundred. 5 Encamped beside it is the tribe of Issachar. The leader of the Issacharites is Nethanel, son of Zuar, 6 and the enrollment of his company is fifty-four thousand four hundred. 7 Also the tribe of Zebulun. The leader of the Zebulunites is Eliab, son of Helon, 8 and the enrollment of his company is fifty-seven thousand four hundred. 9 The total enrollment of the camp of Judah by companies is one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred. They shall be first on the march.
10 The divisional camp of Reuben shall be on the south side, by companies. The leader of the Reubenites is Elizur, son of Shedeur, 11 and the enrollment of his company is forty-six thousand five hundred. 12 Encamped beside it is the tribe of Simeon. The leader of the Simeonites is Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai, 13 and the enrollment of his company is fifty-nine thousand three hundred. 14 Next is the tribe of Gad. The leader of the Gadites is Eliasaph, son of Reuel, 15 and the enrollment of his company is forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty. 16 The total enrollment of the camp of Reuben by companies is one hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty. They shall be second on the march.
17 Then the tent of meeting and the camp of the Levites shall set out in the midst of the divisions. As they camp, so also they will march, each in place, by their divisions.
18 The divisional camp of Ephraim shall be on the west side, by companies. The leader of the Ephraimites is Elishama, son of Ammihud, 19 and the enrollment of his company is forty thousand five hundred. 20 Beside it shall be the tribe of Manasseh. The leader of the Manassites is Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur, 21 and the enrollment of his company is thirty-two thousand two hundred. 22 Also the tribe of Benjamin. The leader of the Benjaminites is Abidan, son of Gideoni, 23 and the enrollment of his company is thirty-five thousand four hundred. 24 The total enrollment of the camp of Ephraim by companies is one hundred and eight thousand one hundred. They shall be third on the march.
25 The divisional camp of Dan shall be on the north side, by companies. The leader of the Danites is Ahiezer, son of Ammishaddai, 26 and the enrollment of his company is sixty-two thousand seven hundred. 27 Encamped beside it shall be the tribe of Asher. The leader of the Asherites is Pagiel, son of Ochran, 28 and the enrollment of his company is forty-one thousand five hundred. 29 Also the tribe of Naphtali. The leader of the Naphtalites is Ahira, son of Enan, 30 and the enrollment of his company is fifty-three thousand four hundred. 31 The total enrollment of the camp of Dan is one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred. They shall be the last on the march, by divisions.
32 (B)These are the enrollments of the Israelites according to their ancestral houses. The total enrollment of the camps by companies is six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty. 33 The Levites, however, were not enrolled with the other Israelites, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 34 The Israelites did just as the Lord had commanded Moses; both in camp and on the march they were in their own divisions, everyone by clan and according to ancestral house.

El jefe de los hijos de Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Helón(D), 8 y su ejército, los enumerados, cincuenta y siete mil cuatrocientos. 9 El total de los enumerados del campamento de Judá: ciento ochenta y seis mil cuatrocientos, según sus ejércitos. Ellos partirán primero(E).
10 Al sur estará la bandera del campamento de Rubén, según sus ejércitos. El jefe de los hijos de Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur(F), 11 y su ejército, los enumerados, cuarenta y seis mil quinientos. 12 Y junto a él acampará la tribu de Simeón. El jefe de los hijos de Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai(G), 13 y su ejército, los enumerados, cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos. 14 Después, la tribu de Gad. El jefe de los hijos de Gad, Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel[d](H), 15 y su ejército, los enumerados, cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta. 16 El total de los enumerados del campamento de Rubén: ciento cincuenta y un mil cuatrocientos cincuenta, según sus ejércitos. Ellos partirán en segundo lugar(I).
17 Entonces partirá la tienda de reunión con el campamento de levitas en medio de los campamentos(J); tal como acampan así partirán, cada uno en su lugar, por sus banderas.
18 Al occidente estará la bandera del campamento de Efraín(K), según sus ejércitos. El jefe de los hijos de Efraín, Elisama, hijo de Amiud(L), 19 y su ejército, los enumerados, cuarenta mil quinientos. 20 Y junto a él estará la tribu de Manasés. El jefe de los hijos de Manasés, Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur(M), 21 y su ejército, los enumerados, treinta y dos mil doscientos. 22 Después, la tribu de Benjamín(N). El jefe de los hijos de Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Gedeoni(O), 23 y su ejército, los enumerados, treinta y cinco mil cuatrocientos. 24 El total de los enumerados del campamento de Efraín(P): ciento ocho mil cien, según sus ejércitos. Y ellos partirán en tercer lugar.
25 Al norte estará la bandera del campamento de Dan, según sus ejércitos. El jefe de los hijos de Dan, Ahiezer, hijo de Amisadai(Q), 26 y su ejército, los enumerados, sesenta y dos mil setecientos. 27 Y junto a él acampará la tribu de Aser. El jefe de los hijos de Aser, Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán(R), 28 y su ejército, los enumerados, cuarenta y un mil quinientos. 29 Después, la tribu de Neftalí(S). El jefe de los hijos de Neftalí, Ahira, hijo de Enán(T), 30 y su ejército, los enumerados, cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos. 31 El total de los enumerados del campamento de Dan: ciento cincuenta y siete mil seiscientos. Ellos serán los últimos en partir, según sus banderas(U).
32 Estos son los enumerados de los hijos de Israel, por sus casas paternas; el total de los enumerados de los campamentos, según sus ejércitos: seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta(V). 33 Pero los levitas no fueron contados entre los hijos de Israel(W), tal como el Señor había ordenado a Moisés. 34 Y los hijos de Israel hicieron conforme a todo lo que el Señor había ordenado a Moisés; así acamparon por sus banderas y así partieron, cada uno según su familia, conforme a su casa paterna.

The Arrangement of the Tribal Camps
2 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 2 “The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard(A) and holding the banners of their family.”
3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.(B) 4 His division numbers 74,600.
5 The tribe of Issachar(C) will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar.(D) 6 His division numbers 54,400.
7 The tribe of Zebulun will be next. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon.(E) 8 His division numbers 57,400.
9 All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first.(F)
10 On the south(G) will be the divisions of the camp of Reuben under their standard. The leader of the people of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur.(H) 11 His division numbers 46,500.
12 The tribe of Simeon(I) will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.(J) 13 His division numbers 59,300.
14 The tribe of Gad(K) will be next. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel.[a](L) 15 His division numbers 45,650.
16 All the men assigned to the camp of Reuben,(M) according to their divisions, number 151,450. They will set out second.
17 Then the tent of meeting and the camp of the Levites(N) will set out in the middle of the camps. They will set out in the same order as they encamp, each in their own place under their standard.
18 On the west(O) will be the divisions of the camp of Ephraim(P) under their standard. The leader of the people of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud.(Q) 19 His division numbers 40,500.
20 The tribe of Manasseh(R) will be next to them. The leader of the people of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.(S) 21 His division numbers 32,200.
22 The tribe of Benjamin(T) will be next. The leader of the people of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni.(U) 23 His division numbers 35,400.
24 All the men assigned to the camp of Ephraim,(V) according to their divisions, number 108,100. They will set out third.(W)
25 On the north(X) will be the divisions of the camp of Dan under their standard.(Y) The leader of the people of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.(Z) 26 His division numbers 62,700.
27 The tribe of Asher will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Asher is Pagiel son of Okran.(AA) 28 His division numbers 41,500.
29 The tribe of Naphtali(AB) will be next. The leader of the people of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan.(AC) 30 His division numbers 53,400.
31 All the men assigned to the camp of Dan number 157,600. They will set out last,(AD) under their standards.
32 These are the Israelites, counted according to their families.(AE) All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550.(AF) 33 The Levites, however, were not counted(AG) along with the other Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 So the Israelites did everything the Lord commanded Moses; that is the way they encamped under their standards, and that is the way they set out, each of them with their clan and family.
