Arrangement of the Camp
2 The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, 2 (A)“The people of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers' houses. They shall camp facing the tent of meeting on every side. 3 Those to camp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah by their companies, the chief of the people of Judah being (B)Nahshon the son of Amminadab, 4 his company as listed being 74,600. 5 Those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar, the chief of the people of Issachar being Nethanel the son of Zuar, 6 his company as listed being 54,400. 7 Then the tribe of Zebulun, the chief of the people of Zebulun being Eliab the son of Helon, 8 his company as listed being 57,400. 9 All those listed of the camp of Judah, by their companies, were 186,400. (C)They shall set out first on the march.
10 “On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben by their companies, the chief of the people of Reuben being Elizur the son of Shedeur, 11 his company as listed being 46,500. 12 And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon, the chief of the people of Simeon being Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, 13 his company as listed being 59,300. 14 Then the tribe of Gad, the chief of the people of Gad being Eliasaph the son of (D)Reuel, 15 his company as listed being 45,650. 16 All those listed of the camp of Reuben, by their companies, were 151,450. (E)They shall set out second.
17 (F)“Then the tent of meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps; as they camp, so shall they set out, each in position, standard by standard.
18 “On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim by their companies, the chief of the people of Ephraim being Elishama the son of Ammihud, 19 his company as listed being 40,500. 20 And next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh, the chief of the people of Manasseh being Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, 21 his company as listed being 32,200. 22 Then the tribe of Benjamin, the chief of the people of Benjamin being Abidan the son of Gideoni, 23 his company as listed being 35,400. 24 All those listed of the camp of Ephraim, by their companies, were 108,100. (G)They shall set out third on the march.
25 “On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan by their companies, the chief of the people of Dan being Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai, 26 his company as listed being 62,700. 27 And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, the chief of the people of Asher being Pagiel the son of Ochran, 28 his company as listed being 41,500. 29 Then the tribe of Naphtali, the chief of the people of Naphtali being Ahira the son of Enan, 30 his company as listed being 53,400. 31 All those listed of the camp of Dan were 157,600. (H)They shall set out last, standard by standard.”
32 These are the people of Israel as listed by their fathers' houses. All those listed in the camps by their companies were (I)603,550. 33 But (J)the Levites were not listed among the people of Israel, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 Thus did the people of Israel. According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, (K)so they camped by their standards, and so they set out, each one in his clan, according to his fathers' house.

3-4 성막 동쪽에 진을 칠 세 지파는 암미나 답의 아들 나손이 이끄는 74,600명의 병력을 가진 유다 지파,
5-6 그 옆에는 수알의 아들 느다넬이 이끄 는 54,400명의 병력을 가진 잇사갈 지파,
7-8 그 옆에는 헬론의 아들 엘리압이 이끄는 57,400명의 병력을 가진 스불론 지파이다.
9 이와 같이 유다 진영에 진을 칠 전체 병력은 186,400명이다. 이들이 선두에서 행군하게 하라.
10-11 “성막 남쪽에 진을 칠 세 지파는 스데울 의 아들 엘리술이 이끄는 46,500명의 병력을 가진 르우벤 지파,
12-13 그 옆에는 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘 이 이끄는 59,300명의 병력을 가진 시므온 지파,
14-15 그 옆에는 [a]르우엘의 아들 엘리아삽이 이끄는 45,650명의 병력을 가진 갓 지파이다.
16 이와 같이 르우벤 진영에 진을 칠 전체 병력은 151,450명이다. 이들이 두 번째로 행군하게 하라.
17 “그 다음에는 레위 지파가 성막을 가지고 행렬 중앙에서 행군하게 하라. 그리고 행군할 때에는 진을 치는 순서대로 각 지파가 기를 앞세우고 자기 위치에서 행군해야 한다.
18-19 “성막 서쪽에 진을 칠 세 지파는 암미훗 의 아들 엘리사마가 이끄는 40,500명의 병력을 가진 에브라임 지파,
20-21 그 옆에는 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이 이끄는 32,200명의 병력을 가진 므낫세 지파,
22-23 그 옆에는 기드오니의 아들 아비단이 이끄는 35,400명의 병력을 가진 베냐민 지파이다.
24 이와 같이 에브라임 진영에 진을 칠 전체 병력은 108,100명이다. 이들이 세 번째로 행군하게 하라.
25-26 “그리고 성막 북쪽에 진을 칠 세 지파 는 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이 이끄는 62,700명의 병력을 가진 단 지파,
27-28 그 옆에는 오그란의 아들 바기엘이 이 끄는 41,500명의 병력을 가진 아셀 지파,
29-30 그 옆에는 에난의 아들 아히라가 이끄 는 53,400명의 병력을 가진 납달리 지파이다.
31 이와 같이 단 진영에 진을 칠 전체 병력은 157,600명이다. 이들이 제일 뒤에서 행군하게 하라.”
32 이상과 같이 이스라엘 백성 가운데 징집 명단에 등록된 전체 인원은 603,550명이었다.
33 그러나 여기에는 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 레위인은 포함되지 않았다.
34 이스라엘 백성은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 각 지파별로 기를 앞세우고 진을 치기도 하고 행군하기도 하였다.
