Where the tribes put up their tents
2 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 2 ‘The Israelites must put up their tents on each side of the Tent of Meeting. They must not be very near to it but they must be all around it. They must live together in their tribes. Each person must be with his own tribe. Each tribe must have its own flag.[a]
3 The people in Judah's tribe must be on the east side of the Tent. They must have their flag with them, and they must put up their tents in groups. The leader of the tribe of Judah is Nahshon, the son of Amminadab. 4 There will be 74,600 soldiers in his army.
5 The tribe of Issachar will put up their tents on one side of Judah's camp. The leader of the tribe of Issachar is Nethanel, the son of Zuar. 6 There will be 54,400 soldiers in his army.
7 The tribe of Zebulun will be on the other side of Judah's camp. The leader of the tribe of Zebulun is Eliab, the son of Helon. 8 There will be 57,400 soldiers in his army.
9 So there will be 186,400 soldiers in the three groups on Judah's side of the camp. When the people travel, these tribes will march first.
10 The tribe of Reuben must be on the south side of the Tent. They must have their flag with them, and they must put up their tents in groups. The leader of the tribe of Reuben is Elizur, the son of Shedeur. 11 There will be 46,500 soldiers in his army.
12 The tribe of Simeon will put up their tents on one side of Reuben's camp. The leader of the tribe of Simeon is Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai. 13 There will be 59,300 soldiers in his army.
14 The tribe of Gad will be on the other side of Reuben's camp. The leader of the tribe of Gad is Eliasaph, the son of Deuel. 15 There will be 45,650 soldiers in his army.
16 So there will be 151,450 soldiers in the three groups on Reuben's side of the camp. When the people travel, they will march second.
17 The Levites must march next. The Levites must carry the Tent of Meeting. They must march between the first two groups of tribes and the last two groups of tribes. Each man must be in his own place. They must march with their flag.
18 The tribe of Ephraim must be on the west side of the Tent. They must have their flag with them and they must live in groups. The leader of the tribe of Ephraim is Elishama, the son of Ammihud. 19 There will be 40,500 soldiers in his army.
20 The tribe of Manasseh will be on one side of Ephraim's camp. The leader of the tribe of Manasseh is Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur. 21 There will be 32,200 soldiers in his army.
22 The tribe of Benjamin will be on the other side of Ephraim's camp. The leader of the tribe of Benjamin is Abidan, the son of Gideoni. 23 There will be 35,400 soldiers in his army.
24 So there will be 108,100 soldiers in the three groups on Ephraim's side of the camp. When the people travel, they will march third.
25 The tribe of Dan must be on the north side of the Tent. They must have their flag with them and they must live in groups. The leader of the tribe of Dan is Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai. 26 There will be 62,700 soldiers in his army.
27 The tribe of Asher will put up their tents on one side of Dan's camp. The leader of the tribe of Asher is Pagiel, the son of Ocran. 28 There will be 41,500 soldiers in his army.
29 The tribe of Naphtali will be on the other side of Dan's camp. The leader of the tribe of Naphtali is Ahira, the son of Enan. 30 There will be 53,400 soldiers in his army.
31 So there will be 157,600 soldiers in the three groups on Dan's side of the camp. They will march last with their flag.’
32 In that way, Moses and his helpers counted all the Israelite men who were able to fight. They counted them in groups, clan by clan. There were 603,550 soldiers. 33 They did not count the Levites among the other Israelites. That was what the Lord had told Moses.
34 The Israelites did everything that the Lord had told Moses. They put up their tents in groups, as the Lord wanted. Each tribe put up its tents under its own flag. When they started to travel, each man walked with his own clan and his own family.

2 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: 2 (A)“Everyone of the children of Israel shall camp by his own [a]standard, beside the emblems of his father’s house; they shall camp (B)some distance from the tabernacle of meeting. 3 On the (C)east side, toward the rising of the sun, those of the standard of the forces with Judah shall camp according to their armies; and (D)Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be the leader of the children of Judah.” 4 And his army was numbered at seventy-four thousand six hundred.
5 “Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar, and Nethanel the son of Zuar shall be the leader of the children of Issachar.” 6 And his army was numbered at fifty-four thousand four hundred.
7 “Then comes the tribe of Zebulun, and Eliab the son of Helon shall be the leader of the children of Zebulun.” 8 And his army was numbered at fifty-seven thousand four hundred. 9 “All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Judah, one hundred and eighty-six thousand four hundred—(E)these shall [b]break camp first.
10 “On the (F)south side shall be the standard of the forces with Reuben according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.” 11 And his army was numbered at forty-six thousand five hundred.
12 “Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon, and the leader of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.” 13 And his army was numbered at fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
14 “Then comes the tribe of Gad, and the leader of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of [c]Reuel.” 15 And his army was numbered at forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty. 16 “All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Reuben, one hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty—(G)they shall [d]be the second to break camp.
17 (H)“And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the [e]camp of the Levites (I)in the middle of the [f]camps; as they camp, so they shall move out, everyone in his place, by their [g]standards.
18 “On the west side shall be the standard of the forces with Ephraim according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.” 19 And his army was numbered at forty thousand five hundred.
20 “Next to him comes the tribe of Manasseh, and the leader of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.” 21 And his army was numbered at thirty-two thousand two hundred.
22 “Then comes the tribe of Benjamin, and the leader of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.” 23 And his army was numbered at thirty-five thousand four hundred. 24 “All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces with Ephraim, one hundred and eight thousand one hundred—(J)they shall [h]be the third to break camp.
25 “The [i]standard of the forces with Dan shall be on the north side according to their armies, and the leader of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.” 26 And his army was numbered at sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
27 “Those who camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, and the leader of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran.” 28 And his army was numbered at forty-one thousand five hundred.
29 “Then comes the tribe of Naphtali, and the leader of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan.” 30 And his army was numbered at fifty-three thousand four hundred. 31 “All who were numbered of the forces with Dan, one hundred and fifty-seven thousand six hundred—(K)they shall [j]break camp last, with their [k]standards.”
32 These are the ones who were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses. (L)All who were numbered according to their armies of the forces were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty. 33 But (M)the Levites were not numbered among the children of Israel, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 Thus the children of Israel (N)did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses; (O)so they camped by their [l]standards and so they broke camp, each one by his family, according to their fathers’ houses.

2 وَخَاطَبَ الرَّبُّ مُوسَى وَهَرُونَ: 2 «لِيُخَيِّمْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ كُلٌّ عِنْدَ رَايَتِهِ تَحْتَ أَعْلامِ بُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، وَلْيُقِيمُوا مُقَابِلَ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ وَحَوْلَهَا.
3 وَلْيُخَيِّمْ سِبْطُ يَهُوذَا بِرَايَتِهِ إِلَى الشَّرْقِ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِ وَيَكُونُ رَئِيسُ سِبْطِ يَهُوذَا نَحْشُونَ بْنَ عَمِّينَادَابَ، 4 وَعَدَدُ جُنُودِهِ الْمُحْصَوْنَ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ أَلْفاً وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ. 5 وَلْيَنْزِلْ مَعَهُ كُلٌّ مِنْ سِبْطِ يَسَّاكَرَ الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ نَثَنَائِيلُ بْنُ صُوغَرَ، 6 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ أَرْبَعَةً وَخَمْسِينَ أَلْفاً وَأَرْبَعَ مِئَةٍ. 7 وَسِبْطِ زَبُولُونَ الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ أَلِيَآبُ بْنُ حِيلُونَ، 8 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ سَبْعَةً وَخَمْسِينَ أَلْفاً وَأَرْبَعَ مِئَةٍ. 9 فَمَجْمُوعُ الْمُحْصَيْنَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ يَهُوذَا مِئَةُ أَلْفٍ وَسِتَّةٌ وَثَمَانُونَ أَلْفاً وَأَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ مِنَ الْجُنُودِ. هَؤُلاءِ يَرْتَحِلُونَ أَولاً.
10 وَلْيُخَيِّمْ رَأُوبَيْنُ بِرَايَتِهِ إِلَى الْجَنُوبِ. وَيَكُونُ رَئِيسُ سِبْطِ رَأُوبَيْنَ أَلِيصُورَ بْنَ شَدَيْئُورَ، 11 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ سِتَّةً وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفاً وَخَمْسَ مِئَةٍ. 12 وَلْيَنْزِلْ مَعَهُ كُلٌّ مِنْ سِبْطِ شِمْعُونَ الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ شَلُومِيئِيلُ بْنُ صُورِيشَدَّايْ، 13 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ تِسْعَةً وَخَمْسِينَ أَلْفاً وَثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ. 14 وَسِبْطِ جَادٍ الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ أَلِيَاسَافُ بْنُ دَعُوئِيلَ، 15 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ خَمْسَةً وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفاً وَسِتَّ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ. 16 فَيَكُونُ مَجْمُوعُ الْمُحْصَيْنَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ رَأُوبَيْنَ مِئَةَ أَلْفٍ وَوَاحِداً وَخَمْسِينَ أَلْفاً وَأَرْبَعَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ مِنَ الْجُنُودِ. هَؤُلاءِ يَرْتَحِلُونَ ثَانِيَةً.
17 ثُمَّ تَرْتَحِلُ خَيْمَةُ الاجْتِمَاعِ وَسِبْطُ اللّاوِيِّينَ فِي وَسَطِ الْمُخَيَّمِ. كَمَا يَنْزِلُونَ كَذَلِكَ يَرْتَحِلُونَ. كُلٌّ يَنْزِلُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ مَعَ رَايَاتِهِ.
18 وَلْيُخَيِّمْ أَفْرَايِمُ بِرَايَتِهِ وَفِرَقِ جُنُودِهِ إِلَى الْغَرْبِ. وَيَكُونُ رَئِيسُ سِبْطِ أَفْرَايِمَ أَلِيشَمَعَ بْنَ عَمِّيهُودَ، 19 وَعَدَدُ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمْ أَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفاً وَخَمْسُ مِئَةٍ. 20 وَلْيَنْزِلْ مَعَهُ كُلٌّ مِنْ سِبْطِ مَنَسَّى الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ جَمْلِيئِيلُ بْنُ فَدَهْصُورَ، 21 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ اثْنَيْنِ وَثَلاثِينَ أَلْفاً وَمِئَتَيْنِ. 22 وَسِبْطِ بِنْيَامِينَ الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ أَبِيدَنُ بْنُ جِدْعُونِي، 23 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ خَمْسَةً وَثَلاثِينَ أَلْفاً وَأَرْبَعَ مِئَةٍ. 24 فَيَكُونُ مَجْمُوعُ الْمُحْصَيْنَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ أَفْرَايِمَ مِئَةَ أَلْفٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ آلافٍ وَمِئَةً مِنَ الْجُنُودِ. هَؤُلاءِ يَرْتَحِلُونَ ثَالِثَةً.
25 وَلْيُخَيِّمْ دَانٌ بِرَايَتِهِ وَفِرَقِ جُنُودِهِ إِلَى الشِّمَالِ. وَيَكُونُ رَئِيسُ سِبْطِ دَانَ أَخِيعَزَرَ بْنَ عَمِّيشَدَّايْ، 26 وَعَدَدُ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ اثْنَانِ وَسِتُّونَ أَلْفاً وَسَبْعُ مِئَةٍ. 27 وَلْيَنْزِلْ مَعَهُ كُلٌّ مِنْ سِبْطِ أَشِيرَ الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ فَجْعِيئِيلُ بْنُ عُكْرَنَ، 28 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ وَاحِداً وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفاً وَخَمْسَ مِئَةٍ. 29 وَسِبْطِ نَفْتَالِي الَّذِي يَرْأَسُهُ أَخِيرَعُ بْنُ عِينَنَ، 30 مَعَ جُنْدِهِ الَّذِينَ أَحْصَاهُمُ الْبَالِغِينَ ثَلاثَةً وَخَمْسِينَ أَلْفاً وَأَرْبَعَ مِئَةٍ. 31 فَيَكُونُ مَجْمُوعُ الْمُحْصَيْنَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ دَانٍ مِئَةَ أَلْفٍ وَسَبْعَةً وَخَمْسِينَ أَلْفاً وَسِتَّ مِئَةٍ. هَؤُلاءِ يَرْتَحِلُونَ أَخِيراً بِرَايَاتِهِمْ».
32 فَيَكُونُ عَدَدُ الْمُحْصَيْنَ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَسَبَ بُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمِ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي الْمُخَيَّمِ وَفْقاً لِعَشَائِرِهِمْ سِتَّ مِئَةِ أَلْفٍ وَثَلاثَةَ آلافٍ وَخَمْسَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ فَرْداً. 33 أَمَّا اللّاوِيُّونَ فَلَمْ يَتِمَّ إِحْصَاؤُهُمْ بَيْنَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، كَمَا أَمَرَ الرَّبُّ مُوسَى. 34 فَنَفَّذَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ تَمَاماً كُلَّ مَا أَمَرَ الرَّبُّ بِهِ مُوسَى فِي حِلِّهِمْ وَتِرْحَالِهِمْ نَازِلِينَ تَحْتَ رَايَاتِهِمْ، كُلٌّ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِ وَسِبْطِهِ.
