Numbers 18:8-16

Offerings for Priests and Levites

⁸Then the Lord said to Aaron, “I myself have put you in charge of the offerings presented to me; all the holy offerings the Israelites give me I give to you and your sons as your portion,^(A) your perpetual share.^(B) ⁹You are to have the part of the most holy offerings^(C) that is kept from the fire. From all the gifts they bring me as most holy offerings, whether grain^(D) or sin^[a]^(E) or guilt offerings,^(F) that part belongs to you and your sons. ¹⁰Eat it as something most holy; every male shall eat it.^(G) You must regard it as holy.^(H)

¹¹“This also is yours: whatever is set aside from the gifts of all the wave offerings^(I) of the Israelites. I give this to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share.^(J) Everyone in your household who is ceremonially clean^(K) may eat it.

¹²“I give you all the finest olive oil and all the finest new wine and grain^(L) they give the Lord^(M) as the firstfruits of their harvest.^(N) ¹³All the land’s firstfruits that they bring to the Lord will be yours.^(O) Everyone in your household who is ceremonially clean may eat it.^(P)

¹⁴“Everything in Israel that is devoted^[b] to the Lord^(Q) is yours. ¹⁵The first offspring of every womb, both human and animal, that is offered to the Lord is yours.^(R) But you must redeem^(S) every firstborn^(T) son and every firstborn male of unclean animals.^(U) ¹⁶When they are a month old,^(V) you must redeem them at the redemption price set at five shekels^[c]^(W) of silver, according to the sanctuary shekel,^(X) which weighs twenty gerahs.^(Y)

A psalm.

¹Sing to the Lord^(A) a new song,^(B)
    for he has done marvelous things;^(C)
his right hand^(D) and his holy arm^(E)
    have worked salvation^(F) for him.
²The Lord has made his salvation known^(G)
    and revealed his righteousness^(H) to the nations.^(I)
³He has remembered^(J) his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth^(K) have seen
    the salvation of our God.^(L)

⁴Shout for joy^(M) to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
⁵make music to the Lord with the harp,^(N)
    with the harp and the sound of singing,^(O)
⁶with trumpets^(P) and the blast of the ram’s horn^(Q)—
    shout for joy^(R) before the Lord, the King.^(S)

⁷Let the sea^(T) resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.^(U)
⁸Let the rivers clap their hands,^(V)
    let the mountains^(W) sing together for joy;
⁹let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.^(X)

Amos 9:11-15

Israel’s Restoration

¹¹“In that day

“I will restore David’s^(A) fallen shelter^(B)—
    I will repair its broken walls
    and restore its ruins^(C)—
    and will rebuild it as it used to be,^(D)
¹²so that they may possess the remnant of Edom^(E)
    and all the nations that bear my name,^[a]^(F)”
declares the Lord, who will do these things.^(G)

¹³“The days are coming,”^(H) declares the Lord,

“when the reaper^(I) will be overtaken by the plowman^(J)
    and the planter by the one treading^(K) grapes.
New wine^(L) will drip from the mountains
    and flow from all the hills,^(M)
¹⁴    and I will bring^(N) my people Israel back from exile.^[b]^(O)

“They will rebuild the ruined cities^(P) and live in them.
    They will plant vineyards^(Q) and drink their wine;
    they will make gardens and eat their fruit.^(R)
¹⁵I will plant^(S) Israel in their own land,^(T)
    never again to be uprooted^(U)
    from the land I have given them,”^(V)

says the Lord your God.^(W)
