Then Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground before the whole community of Israel. Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing. They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”

(A)Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces in the presence of all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “(B)The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. (C)If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us—(D)a land which flows with milk and honey. Only (E)do not rebel against the Lord; and do not (F)fear the people of the land, for they will be our [a]prey. Their [b]protection is gone from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”
