(A)Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces in the presence of all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; and they spoke to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, saying, “(B)The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. (C)If Yahweh is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us—(D)a land which flows with milk and honey. But as for you, only (E)do not rebel against Yahweh; and do not (F)fear the people of the land, for they are our [a]bread. Their [b]protection has been removed from them, and Yahweh is with us; do not fear them.”

Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown before the entire assembly of the Israelite community.

Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, two of those who had scouted the land, tore their clothes. They spoke to the entire Israelite community, “The land that we explored and scouted is a very good land. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that is flowing with milk and honey. Only do not revolt against the Lord. Do not fear the people of the land, for we will eat them up.[a] Their protection is taken away from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
