And it happened, men who were unclean by a dead person[a] were not able to perform the Passover on that day. And they came before[b] Moses and Aaron on that day. And those men said to him, “Although we are unclean by a dead person,[c] why are we hindered from presenting the offering of Yahweh at its appointed time in the midst of the Israelites?”[d] Moses said to them, “Stay. I will hear what Yahweh commands to you.”

But some of them could not celebrate the Passover on that day because they were ceremonially unclean(A) on account of a dead body.(B) So they came to Moses and Aaron(C) that same day and said to Moses, “We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?(D)

Moses answered them, “Wait until I find out what the Lord commands concerning you.”(E)
