¹⁷ “^(A)These are the names of the men who shall apportion the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.

^28 (A)But command Joshua and strengthen him and encourage him, ^(B)for he shall go across ^[a]at the head of this people, and he will cause them to inherit the land which you will see.’

⁷ Then Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “^(A)Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which Yahweh has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall give it to them as an inheritance.

²³ So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and ^(A)Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. ^(B)Thus the land was quiet from war.
