Expanded Bible
2 At the Lord’s command Moses ·recorded [wrote down] the places they went, and these are the places they went.
3 On the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover [Ex. 12:1–30], the ·Israelites [L sons/T children of Israel] left Rameses and marched out ·boldly [L with a high hand] in front of all the Egyptians [Ex. 12:31–42]. 4 The Egyptians were burying their firstborn sons, whom the Lord had ·killed [L struck]; the Lord ·showed that the gods of Egypt were false [or even executed judgment against their gods; Ex. 12:12].

New International Version
2 At the Lord’s command Moses recorded(A) the stages in their journey(B). This is their journey by stages:
3 The Israelites set out(C) from Rameses(D) on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover.(E) They marched out defiantly(F) in full view of all the Egyptians, 4 who were burying all their firstborn,(G) whom the Lord had struck down among them; for the Lord had brought judgment(H) on their gods.(I)
