^16 (A)Behold, these ^[a]caused the sons of Israel, through the word of ^(B)Balaam, to ^[b]act unfaithfully against Yahweh in the matter of Peor, so the plague was among the congregation of Yahweh.

⁸ Nor let us act in sexual immorality, as ^(A)some of them ^[a]did, and ^(B)twenty-three thousand fell in one day.
