Which called the people unto the sacrifice of their gods, and the people ate, and bowed down to their gods.

And Israel [a]coupled himself unto Baal of Peor: wherefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel:

And the Lord said unto Moses, (A)Take all the heads of the people and hang them up [b]before the Lord [c]against the Sun, that the indignation of the Lord’s wrath may be turned from Israel.

The Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders(E) of these people, kill them and expose(F) them in broad daylight before the Lord,(G) so that the Lord’s fierce anger(H) may turn away from Israel.”
