⁵ So he sent messengers to ^(A)Balaam the son of Beor, at ^(B)Pethor, which is near the ^[a]River, in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, “Behold, a people came out of Egypt; behold, they cover the surface of the land, and they are settled opposite me.

⁷ Then he took up his ^[a]discourse and said,

⁹ Then ^(A)Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel, and he sent and summoned Balaam the son of Beor to curse you.

¹⁵ Forsaking ^(A)the right way, they have gone astray, having followed ^(B)the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved ^(C)the wages of unrighteousness,

¹¹ Woe to them! For they have gone ^(A)the way of Cain, and for pay they have poured themselves into ^(B)the error of Balaam, and ^(C)perished in the rebellion of Korah.
