Numbers 22:28-29

²⁸And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?

²⁹And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.

New International Version

²⁸Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth,^(A) and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?^(B)”

²⁹Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If only I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now.^(C)”
