13 This is the water of [a]Meribah, because the children of Israel strove with the Lord, and he [b]was sanctified in them.

14 ¶ Then Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of [c]Edom, saying, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that we have had,

15 How our fathers went down into Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, where the Egyptians handled us evil and our fathers.
