47 Aaron did as Moses told him and ran out among the people. The plague had already begun to strike down the people, but Aaron burned the incense and purified[a] the people. 48 He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague stopped. 49 But 14,700 people died in that plague, in addition to those who had died in the affair involving Korah.

47 So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people,(A) but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them. 48 He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.(B) 49 But 14,700 people died from the plague, in addition to those who had died because of Korah.(C)
