37 Yahweh also spoke to Moses, saying, 38 “Speak to the sons of Israel, and tell them that they shall make for themselves (A)tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and that they shall put on the tassel of each corner a cord of blue. 39 And it shall be a tassel for you [a]to look at and (B)remember all the commandments of Yahweh, so as to do them and not [b]follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you played the harlot, 40 so that you may remember to do all My commandments and (C)be holy to your God. 41 I am Yahweh your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God; I am Yahweh your God.”

Tassels on Garments

37 The Lord said to Moses, 38 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Throughout the generations to come(A) you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments,(B) with a blue cord on each tassel. 39 You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember(C) all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves(D) by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts(E) and eyes. 40 Then you will remember to obey all my commands(F) and will be consecrated to your God.(G) 41 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God.(H) I am the Lord your God.(I)’”

38 Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:

39 And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:

40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

41 I am the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord your God.
