26 Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 27 “How long must I put up with this wicked community that keeps complaining about me? I’ve heard the complaints the Israelites are making about me. 28 So tell them, ‘As I live, declares the Lord, I solemnly swear I will do everything to you that you said I would do. 29 Your bodies will drop dead in this desert. All of you who are at least 20 years old, who were registered and listed, and who complained about me will die. 30 I raised my hand and swore an oath to give you this land to live in. But none of you will enter it except Caleb (son of Jephunneh) and Joshua (son of Nun). 31 You said your children would be taken as prisoners of war. Instead, I will bring them into the land you rejected, and they will enjoy it. 32 However, your bodies will drop dead in this desert. 33 Your children will be shepherds in the desert for 40 years. They will suffer for your unfaithfulness until the last of your bodies lies dead in the desert. 34 For 40 days you explored the land. So for 40 years—one year for each day—you will suffer for your sins and know what it means for me to be against you.’ 35 I, the Lord, have spoken. I swear I will do these things to all the people in this whole wicked community who have joined forces against me. They will meet their end in this desert. Here they will die!”
36 So the men Moses sent to explore the land died in front of the Lord from a plague. 37 They died because they had returned and made the whole community complain about Moses by spreading lies about the land.[a] 38 Of all the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua (son of Nun) and Caleb (son of Jephunneh) survived.
The Amalekites and Canaanites Defeat Israel
39 When Moses told these things to all the Israelites, the people mourned bitterly, as if someone had died. 40 Early the next morning they headed into the mountain region. They said, “We have sinned. Now we’ll go to the place the Lord promised.”
41 But Moses asked, “Why are you disobeying the Lord’s command? Your plan won’t work! 42 Don’t go! You will be defeated by your enemies because the Lord is not with you. 43 The Amalekites and Canaanites are there, and you will die in battle. Now that you have turned away from the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.”
44 But they headed into the mountain region anyway, even though the ark of the Lord’s promise and Moses stayed in the camp. 45 The Amalekites and Canaanites who lived there came down from those mountains, attacked the Israelites, and defeated them at Hormah.[b]

26 And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 27 “How long shall (A)this wicked congregation grumble against me? (B)I have heard the grumblings of the people of Israel, which they grumble against me. 28 Say to them, (C)‘As I live, declares the Lord, (D)what you have said in my hearing I will do to you: 29 (E)your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, and (F)of all your number, listed in the census (G)from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against me, 30 not one shall come into the land where I (H)swore that I would make you dwell, (I)except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun. 31 (J)But your little ones, who you said would become a prey, I will bring in, and they shall know the land that (K)you have rejected. 32 But as for you, (L)your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness. 33 And your children (M)shall be shepherds in the wilderness (N)forty years and shall (O)suffer for your faithlessness, until the last of your dead bodies lies in the wilderness. 34 (P)According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, (Q)forty days, a year for each day, you shall bear your iniquity forty years, and you shall know my displeasure.’ 35 (R)I, the Lord, have spoken. Surely this will I do to all (S)this wicked congregation who are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall come to a full end, and there they shall die.”
36 (T)And the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation grumble against him by bringing up a bad report about the land— 37 the men who brought up a bad report of the land—(U)died by plague before the Lord. 38 Of those men who went to spy out the land, (V)only Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive.
Israel Defeated in Battle
39 When Moses told these words to all the people of Israel, the people (W)mourned greatly. 40 And they rose early in the morning and went up to the heights of the hill country, saying, (X)“Here we are. We will go up to the place that the Lord has promised, for we have sinned.” 41 (Y)But Moses said, “Why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will not succeed? 42 (Z)Do not go up, (AA)for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. 43 For there (AB)the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned back from following the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” 44 (AC)But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither (AD)the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp. 45 Then (AE)the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and defeated them and pursued them, even to (AF)Hormah.

26 Y Jehová habló a Moisés y a Aarón, diciendo: 27 ¿Hasta cuándo oiré esta depravada multitud que murmura contra mí, las querellas de los hijos de Israel, que de mí se quejan? 28 Diles: Vivo yo, dice Jehová, que según habéis hablado a mis oídos, así haré yo con vosotros. 29 En este desierto caerán vuestros cuerpos;(A) todo el número de los que fueron contados de entre vosotros, de veinte años arriba, los cuales han murmurado contra mí. 30 Vosotros a la verdad no entraréis en la tierra, por la cual alcé mi mano y juré que os haría habitar en ella; exceptuando a Caleb hijo de Jefone, y a Josué hijo de Nun. 31 Pero a vuestros niños, de los cuales dijisteis que serían por presa, yo los introduciré, y ellos conocerán la tierra que vosotros despreciasteis. 32 En cuanto a vosotros, vuestros cuerpos caerán en este desierto. 33 Y vuestros hijos andarán pastoreando en el desierto cuarenta años,(B) y ellos llevarán vuestras rebeldías, hasta que vuestros cuerpos sean consumidos en el desierto. 34 Conforme al número de los días, de los cuarenta días en que reconocisteis la tierra, llevaréis vuestras iniquidades cuarenta años, un año por cada día; y conoceréis mi castigo. 35 Yo Jehová he hablado; así haré a toda esta multitud perversa que se ha juntado contra mí; en este desierto serán consumidos, y ahí morirán.
Muerte de los diez espías malvados
36 Y los varones que Moisés envió a reconocer la tierra, y que al volver habían hecho murmurar contra él a toda la congregación, desacreditando aquel país, 37 aquellos varones que habían hablado mal de la tierra, murieron de plaga delante de Jehová. 38 Pero Josué hijo de Nun y Caleb hijo de Jefone quedaron con vida, de entre aquellos hombres que habían ido a reconocer la tierra.

39 Y Moisés dijo estas cosas a todos los hijos de Israel, y el pueblo se enlutó mucho. 40 Y se levantaron por la mañana y subieron a la cumbre del monte, diciendo: Henos aquí para subir al lugar del cual ha hablado Jehová; porque hemos pecado. 41 Y dijo Moisés: ¿Por qué quebrantáis el mandamiento de Jehová? Esto tampoco os saldrá bien. 42 No subáis, porque Jehová no está en medio de vosotros, no seáis heridos delante de vuestros enemigos. 43 Porque el amalecita y el cananeo están allí delante de vosotros, y caeréis a espada; pues por cuanto os habéis negado a seguir a Jehová, por eso no estará Jehová con vosotros. 44 Sin embargo, se obstinaron en subir a la cima del monte; pero el arca del pacto de Jehová, y Moisés, no se apartaron de en medio del campamento. 45 Y descendieron el amalecita y el cananeo que habitaban en aquel monte, y los hirieron y los derrotaron, persiguiéndolos hasta Horma.

27 доколе злому обществу сему роптать на Меня? ропот сынов Израилевых, которым они ропщут на Меня, Я слышу.
28 Скажи им: живу Я, говорит Господь: как говорили вы вслух Мне, так и сделаю вам;
29 в пустыне сей падут тела ваши, и все вы исчисленные, сколько вас числом, от двадцати лет и выше, которые роптали на Меня,
30 не войдете в землю, на которой Я, подъемля руку Мою, [клялся] поселить вас, кроме Халева, сына Иефонниина, и Иисуса, сына Навина;
31 детей ваших, о которых вы говорили, что они достанутся в добычу [врагам], Я введу [туда], и они узнают землю, которую вы презрели,
32 а ваши трупы падут в пустыне сей;
33 а сыны ваши будут кочевать в пустыне сорок лет, и будут нести [наказание] за блудодейство ваше, доколе не погибнут все тела ваши в пустыне;
34 по числу сорока дней, в которые вы осматривали землю, вы понесете наказание за грехи ваши сорок лет, год за день, дабы вы познали, [что] [значит] быть оставленным Мною.
35 Я, Господь, говорю, и так и сделаю со всем сим злым обществом, восставшим против Меня: в пустыне сей все они погибнут и перемрут.
36 И те, которых посылал Моисей для осмотрения земли, и которые, возвратившись, возмутили против него все сие общество, распуская худую молву о земле,
37 сии, распустившие худую молву о земле, умерли, быв поражены пред Господом;
38 только Иисус, сын Навин, и Халев, сын Иефонниин, остались живы из тех мужей, которые ходили осматривать землю.
39 И сказал Моисей слова сии пред всеми сынами Израилевыми, и народ сильно опечалился.
40 И, встав рано поутру, пошли на вершину горы, говоря: вот, мы пойдем на то место, о котором сказал Господь, ибо мы согрешили.
41 Моисей сказал: для чего вы преступаете повеление Господне? это будет безуспешно;
42 не ходите, ибо нет среди вас Господа, чтобы не поразили вас враги ваши;
43 ибо Амаликитяне и Хананеи там пред вами, и вы падете от меча, потому что вы отступили от Господа, и не будет с вами Господа.
44 Но они дерзнули подняться на вершину горы; ковчег же завета Господня и Моисей не оставляли стана.
45 И сошли Амаликитяне и Хананеи, живущие на горе той, и разбили их, и гнали их до Хормы.

Jesus Gives Sight to a Blind Man(A)
35 As Jesus came near Jericho, a blind man was sitting and begging by the road. 36 When he heard the crowd going by, he tried to find out what was happening. 37 The people told him that Jesus from Nazareth was passing by. 38 Then the blind man shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 The people at the front of the crowd told the blind man to be quiet. But he shouted even louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 Jesus stopped and ordered them to bring the man to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man said, “Lord, I want to see again.”
42 Jesus told him, “Receive your sight! Your faith has made you well.” 43 Immediately, he could see again. He followed Jesus and praised God. All the people saw this, and they, too, praised God.
Zacchaeus Meets Jesus
19 Jesus was passing through Jericho. 2 A man named Zacchaeus was there. He was the director of tax collectors, and he was rich. 3 He tried to see who Jesus was. But Zacchaeus was a small man, and he couldn’t see Jesus because of the crowd. 4 So Zacchaeus ran ahead and climbed a fig tree to see Jesus, who was coming that way.
5 When Jesus came to the tree, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, come down! I must stay at your house today.”
6 Zacchaeus came down and was glad to welcome Jesus into his home. 7 But the people who saw this began to express disapproval. They said, “He went to be the guest of a sinner.”
8 ⌞Later, at dinner,⌟ Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Lord, I’ll give half of my property to the poor. I’ll pay four times as much as I owe to those I have cheated in any way.”
9 Then Jesus said to Zacchaeus, “You and your family have been saved today. You’ve shown that you, too, are one of Abraham’s descendants. 10 Indeed, the Son of Man has come to seek and to save people who are lost.”

Jesus and Zacchaeus
19 (K)He entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3 And (L)he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. 4 So he ran on ahead and climbed up into (M)a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for (N)I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he hurried and came down and (O)received him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all (P)grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” 8 And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods (Q)I give to the poor. 35 Aconteció que acercándose Jesús a Jericó, un ciego estaba sentado junto al camino mendigando; 36 y al oír a la multitud que pasaba, preguntó qué era aquello. 37 Y le dijeron que pasaba Jesús nazareno. 38 Entonces dio voces, diciendo: ¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! 39 Y los que iban delante le reprendían para que callase; pero él clamaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! 40 Jesús entonces, deteniéndose, mandó traerle a su presencia; y cuando llegó, le preguntó, 41 diciendo: ¿Qué quieres que te haga? 2 И вот, некто, именем Закхей, начальник мытарей и человек богатый,
3 искал видеть Иисуса, кто Он, но не мог за народом, потому что мал был ростом,
4 и, забежав вперед, взлез на смоковницу, чтобы увидеть Его, потому что Ему надлежало проходить мимо нее.
5 Иисус, когда пришел на это место, взглянув, увидел его и сказал ему: Закхей! сойди скорее, ибо сегодня надобно Мне быть у тебя в доме.
6 И он поспешно сошел и принял Его с радостью.
7 И все, видя то, начали роптать, и говорили, что Он зашел к грешному человеку;
8 Закхей же, став, сказал Господу: Господи! половину имения моего я отдам нищим, и, если кого чем обидел, воздам вчетверо.
9 Иисус сказал ему: ныне пришло спасение дому сему, потому что и он сын Авраама,
10 ибо Сын Человеческий пришел взыскать и спасти погибшее.
