³⁴ According to the ^(A)number of days which you spied out the land, forty days, for every day you shall bear your ^[a]guilt a year, even forty years, and you will know My opposition.

Seventy Weeks and the Messiah

²⁴ “Seventy ^[a](A)weeks have been determined for your people and for your holy city, to ^[b]finish the transgression, to ^[c]make an end of sin, to ^(B)make atonement for iniquity, to bring in ^(C)everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and ^[d]prophecy, and to anoint the Holy of Holies. ²⁵ So you are to know and have insight that from the going out of a ^[e](D)word to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until ^[f](E)Messiah the ^(F)Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be restored and rebuilt, with ^[g]plaza and moat, even in times of distress. ²⁶ Then after the sixty-two weeks the ^[h]Messiah will be ^(G)cut off and have ^[i]nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will ^(H)destroy the city and the sanctuary. And ^[j]its end will come with a ^(I)flood; even to the end ^[k]there will be war; desolations are decreed.

¹¹ But from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the ^[a](A)abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. ¹² How ^(B)blessed is he who keeps waiting and reaches the ^(C)1,335 days!

² And ^[a]leave out the ^(A)court which is outside the sanctuary and do not measure it, for ^(B)it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will ^(C)trample ^(D)the holy city under foot for ^(E)forty-two months. ³ And I will give authority to my two ^(F)witnesses, and they will prophesy for ^(G)1,260 days, clothed in ^(H)sackcloth.”
