28 Yet the people who live in the land are strong, and the towns are fortified and very large, and besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there.(A) 29 The Amalekites live in the land of the Negeb; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites live in the hill country, and the Canaanites live by the sea and along the Jordan.”(B)
30 But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.”(C) 31 Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against this people, for they are stronger than we.”(D) 32 So they brought to the Israelites an unfavorable report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land that we have gone through as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great size.(E) 33 There we saw the Nephilim (the Anakites come from the Nephilim), and to ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”(F)

28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large.(A) We even saw descendants of Anak(B) there.(C) 29 The Amalekites(D) live in the Negev; the Hittites,(E) Jebusites(F) and Amorites(G) live in the hill country;(H) and the Canaanites(I) live near the sea and along the Jordan.(J)”
30 Then Caleb(K) silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”(L) 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report(M) about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours(N) those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.(O) 33 We saw the Nephilim(P) there (the descendants of Anak(Q) come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers(R) in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
