²⁸But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak!

New International Version

²⁸But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large.^(A) We even saw descendants of Anak^(B) there.^(C)

³¹But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!”

³¹But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”^(A)
