2 Il parla aux chefs des tribus d’Israël en disant : Voici ce que l’Eternel a ordonné : 3 Si un homme fait un vœu à l’Eternel, ou s’il prend certains engagements par serment, il ne violera pas sa parole ; il agira conformément à ce qu’il a dit[a]. 4 Si une jeune fille fait un vœu à l’Eternel en prenant un certain engagement pendant qu’elle habite encore chez son père, 5 et que son père, après en avoir été informé, n’y objecte pas, ces vœux et ces engagements seront valables. 6 Mais si son père la désapprouve le jour où il en est informé, aucun de ses vœux et de ses engagements qu’elle se sera imposés ne sera valide ; il ne lui sera pas tenu rigueur d’avoir manqué à sa parole puisque son père a annulé ses vœux.
7 Supposons qu’une jeune fille ait fait un vœu ou se soit engagée verbalement, et qu’ensuite elle vienne à se marier. 8 Si son mari en est informé et n’y objecte pas le jour où il l’apprend, ses vœux et ses engagements seront valides. 9 Mais si, ce jour-là, il la désapprouve et annule le vœu qu’elle a fait et l’engagement qu’elle a pris, l’Eternel ne lui tiendra pas rigueur d’avoir manqué à sa parole.

2 When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.(A)
3 “When a young woman still living in her father’s household makes a vow to the Lord or obligates herself by a pledge 4 and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all her vows and every pledge by which she obligated herself will stand.(B) 5 But if her father forbids her(C) when he hears about it, none of her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand; the Lord will release her because her father has forbidden her.
6 “If she marries after she makes a vow(D) or after her lips utter a rash promise by which she obligates herself 7 and her husband hears about it but says nothing to her, then her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand. 8 But if her husband(E) forbids her when he hears about it, he nullifies the vow that obligates her or the rash promise by which she obligates herself, and the Lord will release her.(F)
9 “Any vow or obligation taken by a widow or divorced woman will be binding on her.

2 If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
3 If a woman also vow a vow unto the Lord, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth;
4 And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
5 But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the Lord shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
6 And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul;
7 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
8 But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the Lord shall forgive her.
9 But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
