⁹ Among all the sacred donations of the Israelites, every gift that they bring to the priest shall be his.^(A)

³ “This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those offering a sacrifice, whether an ox or a sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder, the two jowls, and the stomach.^{(A) 4} The first fruits of your grain, your wine, and your oil, as well as the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.^(B)

¹⁹ All the holy offerings that the Israelites present to the Lord I have given to you, together with your sons and daughters, as a perpetual due; it is a covenant of salt forever before the Lord for you and your descendants as well.”^(A)

⁶ Every male among the priests shall eat of it; it shall be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy.^(A)

⁷ “The guilt offering is like the purification offering; the same rule applies to them: the priest who makes atonement with it shall have it.^{(B) 8} So, too, the priest who offers a burnt offering for anyone shall keep the skin of the burnt offering that he has offered. ⁹ And every grain offering baked in the oven and all that is prepared in a pan or on a griddle shall belong to the priest who offers it.^{(C) 10} But every other grain offering, mixed with oil or dry, shall belong to all the sons of Aaron equally.

Further Instructions

¹¹ “This is the rule of the sacrifice of well-being that one may offer to the Lord. ¹² If you offer it for thanksgiving, you shall offer with the thank offering unleavened cakes mixed with oil, unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes of choice flour well soaked in oil. ¹³ With your thanksgiving sacrifice of well-being you shall bring your offering with cakes of leavened bread. ¹⁴ From this you shall offer one cake from each offering, as a gift to the Lord; it shall belong to the priest who dashes the blood of the offering of well-being.^(D)

¹⁷ It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it as their portion of my offerings by fire;^[a] it is most holy, like the purification offering and the guilt offering.^{(A) 18} Every male among the descendants of Aaron shall eat of it, as their perpetual due throughout your generations, from the Lord’s offerings by fire;^[b] anything that touches them shall become holy.”^(B)

²⁸ These things shall be a perpetual ordinance for Aaron and his sons from the Israelites, for this is an offering, and it shall be an offering by the Israelites from their sacrifice of offerings of well-being, their offering to the Lord.^(A)

⁷ Who at any time pays the expenses for doing military service? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat any of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not get any of its milk?^(A)

⁸ Do I say this on human authority? Does not the law also say the same? ⁹ For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” Is it for oxen that God is concerned?^{(B) 10} Or does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was indeed written for our sake, for whoever plows should plow in hope and whoever threshes should thresh in hope of a share in the crop. ¹¹ If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we harvest material^[a] things?^{(C) 12} If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we still more?

Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.^{(D) 13} Do you not know that those who work in the temple service get their food from the temple and those who serve at the altar share in what is sacrificed on the altar?^(E)

Do Not Rob God

⁸ Will anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, “How are we robbing you?” In your tithes and offerings!^{(A) 9} You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me—the whole nation of you! ¹⁰ Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.^(B)

²⁹ They shall eat the grain offering, the purification offering, and the guilt offering, and every devoted thing in Israel shall be theirs.^{(A) 30} The first of all the first fruits of all kinds and every offering of all kinds from all your offerings shall belong to the priests; you shall also give to the priests the first of your dough, in order that a blessing may rest on your house.^(B)
