Punishments for Sexual Immorality

¹⁰ “If a ^(A)man commits adultery with the wife of^[a] his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

⁸ but for those who are self-seeking^[a] and ^(A)do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. ⁹ There will be tribulation and distress ^(B)for every human being who does evil, the Jew ^(C)first and also the Greek,

⁴ Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: ^(A)the soul who sins shall die.

¹³ But if anyone who is clean and is not on a journey fails to keep the Passover, ^(A)that person shall be cut off from his people because he did not bring the Lord's ^(B)offering at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.

^17 (A)“If a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace, and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people. He has uncovered his sister's nakedness, and he shall bear his iniquity. ^18 (B)If a man lies with a woman during her menstrual period and uncovers her nakedness, he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood. Both of them shall be cut off from among their people. ^19 (C)You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or of your father's sister, for that is to make naked ^(D)one's relative; they shall bear their iniquity. ^20 (E)If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.
