¹⁸ “Let not the tribe of the clans of the Kohathites be destroyed from among the Levites,

²³ All your wives and ^(A)your sons shall be led out to the Chaldeans, and you yourself shall not escape from their hand, but shall be seized by the king of Babylon, and this city shall be burned with fire.”

⁶ And when they came to the threshing floor of ^(A)Nacon, Uzzah ^(B)put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. ⁷ And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah, and ^(C)God struck him down there because of his error, and he died there beside the ark of God.

^19 (A)And he struck some of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they looked upon the ark of the Lord. He struck seventy men of them,^[a] and the people mourned because the Lord had struck the people with a great blow.

⁵ And you shall ^(A)keep guard over the sanctuary and over the altar, ^(B)that there may never again be wrath on the people of Israel.

¹⁰ And the Lord said to Moses, “Put back ^(A)the staff of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept ^(B)as a sign for the rebels, ^(C)that you may make an end of their grumblings against me, lest they die.”

³² And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and ^(A)all the people who belonged to Korah and all their goods.

The Death of Nadab and Abihu

10 Now ^(A)Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, ^(B)each took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered ^(C)unauthorized^[a] fire before the Lord, which he had not commanded them. ² And fire ^(D)came out from before the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord.

²¹ And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to the Lord ^(A)to look and many of them perish.
