^14 (A)For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and the half-tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance.

³³ So ^(A)Moses gave to the children of Gad, to the children of Reuben, and to half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, ^(B)the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land with its cities within the borders, the cities of the surrounding country.

² Their inheritance was ^(A)by lot, as the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes and the half-tribe. ^3 (B)For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe on the other side of the Jordan; but to the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.

The Land Divided East of the Jordan

⁸ With the other half-tribe the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, ^(A)which Moses had given them, ^(B)beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord had given them: ⁹ from Aroer which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and the town that is in the midst of the ravine, ^(C)and all the plain of Medeba as far as Dibon; ^10 (D)all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the children of Ammon; ^11 (E)Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salcah; ¹² all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, who remained of ^(F)the remnant of the giants; ^(G)for Moses had ^[a]defeated and ^[b]cast out these.

The Land East of the Jordan Divided^(A)

¹² “And this ^(B)land, which we possessed at that time, ^(C)from Aroer, which is by the River Arnon, and half the mountains of Gilead and ^(D)its cities, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites. ^13 (E)The rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to half the tribe of Manasseh. (All the region of Argob, with all Bashan, was called the land of the ^[a]giants. ^14 (F)Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, ^(G)as far as the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and ^(H)called Bashan after his own name, ^[b]Havoth Jair, to this day.)

¹⁵ “Also I gave ^(I)Gilead to Machir. ¹⁶ And to the Reubenites ^(J)and the Gadites I gave from Gilead as far as the River Arnon, the middle of the river as the border, as far as the River Jabbok, ^(K)the border of the people of Ammon; ¹⁷ the plain also, with the Jordan as the border, from Chinnereth ^(L)as far as the east side of the Sea of the Arabah ^(M)(the Salt Sea), below the slopes of Pisgah.

²³ But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure ^(A)your sin will find you out.
