⁵⁰ From the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, ^(A)one thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

⁴⁶ And for ^(A)the redemption of the two hundred and seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel, ^(B)who are more than the number of the Levites, ⁴⁷ you shall take ^(C)five shekels for each one ^(D)individually; you shall take them in the currency of the shekel of the sanctuary, ^(E)the shekel of twenty gerahs.

Christ’s Suffering and Ours

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring ^[a]us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

¹⁸ knowing that you were not redeemed with ^[a]corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,

¹² Not ^(A)with the blood of goats and calves, but ^(B)with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place ^(C)once for all, ^(D)having obtained eternal redemption.

^14 (A)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed ^(B)and purify for Himself ^(C)His own special people, zealous for good works.

^5 (A)For there is one God and ^(B)one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, ^6 (C)who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,

^28 (A)just as the ^(B)Son of Man did not come to be served, ^(C)but to serve, and ^(D)to give His life a ransom ^(E)for many.”
