14 The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai,(A) 15 “Count(B) the Levites by their families and clans. Count every male a month old or more.”(C) 16 So Moses counted them, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.

14 Then the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, saying: 15 “Number the children of Levi by their fathers’ houses, by their families; you shall number (B)every male from a month old and above.”
16 So Moses numbered them according to the [a]word of the Lord, as he was commanded. 17 (C)These were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 18 And these are the names of the sons of (D)Gershon by their families: (E)Libni and Shimei.
