Offerings for the Feast of Trumpets

29 “On the first day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. ^(A)It is a day for you to blow the trumpets,

²⁴ “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In ^(A)the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, ^(B)a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation. ²⁵ You shall not do any ordinary work, and you shall present a food offering to the Lord.”

¹⁶ to be ^(A)a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles ^(B)in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that ^(C)the offering of the Gentiles may be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. ¹⁷ In Christ Jesus, then, I have ^(D)reason to be proud of ^(E)my work for God. ¹⁸ For I will not venture to speak of anything except ^(F)what Christ has accomplished through me ^(G)to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, ^19 (H)by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that ^(I)from Jerusalem and all the way around ^(J)to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;

¹⁴ How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him ^(A)of whom they have never heard?^[a] And how are they to hear ^(B)without someone preaching? ¹⁵ And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ^(C)“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” ¹⁶ But ^(D)they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ^(E)“Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” ¹⁷ So ^(F)faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

¹⁸ But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for

¹⁵ And he said to them, ^(A)“Go into all the world and ^(B)proclaim the gospel to ^(C)the whole creation. ^16 (D)Whoever believes and is ^(E)baptized ^(F)will be saved, but ^(G)whoever ^(H)does not believe will be condemned.

The Lord Will Save His People

¹³ And in that day ^(A)a great trumpet will be blown, ^(B)and those who were lost in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt ^(C)will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

⁶ From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord. But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was not yet laid.
