²³ and he laid his hands on him and ^(A)commissioned him as the Lord directed through Moses.

¹⁹ Make him stand before Eleazar the priest and all the congregation, and you shall ^(A)commission him in their sight.

⁷ Then ^(A)Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, ^(B)“Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. ⁸ It is the Lord ^(C)who goes before you. He will be with you; ^(D)he will not leave you or forsake you. ^(E)Do not fear or be dismayed.”

²⁸ But ^(A)charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see.’
