¹⁶ “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint someone over the congregation^(A)

²² They fell on their faces and said, “O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one person sin and you become angry with the whole congregation?”^(A)

⁹ Moreover, we had human parents to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not be even more willing to be subject to the Father of spirits and live?

¹⁵ I will give you shepherds after my own heart who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.^(A)

² to tend the flock of God that is in your charge, exercising the oversight,^[a] not under compulsion but willingly, as God would have you do it,^[b] not for sordid gain but eagerly.^{(A) 3} Do not lord it over those in your charge, but be examples to the flock.^{(B) 4} And when the chief shepherd appears, you will win the crown of glory that never fades away.^(C)

²⁸ Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock, of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God^[a] that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.^[b](A)

¹¹ “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.^(A)

³⁸ therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

²⁴ “My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall follow my ordinances and be careful to observe my statutes.^(A)

²³ I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them; he shall feed them and be their shepherd.^(A)
