^8 (A)“Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus ^(B)you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.”

¹⁷ And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs.”

⁵ And the Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which ^(B)you struck the river, and go. ^6 (C)Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.”

And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and ^(A)the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” ^(B)And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

The River of Life

22 And he showed me ^(A)a ^[a]pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Coming of the Holy Spirit

2 When ^(A)the Day of Pentecost had fully come, ^(B)they were all ^[a]with one accord in one place. ² And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and ^(C)it filled the whole house where they were sitting. ³ Then there appeared to them ^[b]divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. ⁴ And ^(D)they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began ^(E)to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

^14 (A)These all continued with one ^[a]accord in prayer ^[b]and supplication, with ^(B)the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with ^(C)His brothers.

²⁴ Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, ^(A)that your joy may be ^(B)full.
