^24 (A)“Let Aaron be gathered to his people, for he shall not enter the land that I have given to the people of Israel, because ^(B)you rebelled against my command at the waters of Meribah.

⁸ Abraham ^(A)breathed his last and ^(B)died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people.

⁵⁰ And die on the mountain which you go up, and be gathered to your people, as ^(A)Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

^2 (A)“Avenge the people of Israel on the Midianites. Afterward you shall ^(B)be gathered to your people.”

¹³ When you have seen it, you also ^(A)shall be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was,

²⁸ Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, and your eyes shall not see all the disaster that I will bring upon this place and its inhabitants.’” And they brought back word to the king.

¹⁰ And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.

Moses Strikes the Rock

¹⁰ Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, ^(A)“Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?” ¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, ^(B)and water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock. ¹² And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because ^(C)you did not believe in me, ^(D)to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.”

²⁷ All the service of the sons of the Gershonites shall be at the command of Aaron and his sons, in all that they are to carry and in all that they have to do. And you shall assign to their charge all that they are to carry.

³³ When Jacob finished commanding his sons, he drew up his feet into the bed and breathed his last and ^(A)was gathered to his people.
