^16 (A)Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain by a sword or who has died, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.

²⁷ “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ^(A)For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

¹⁹ And as for you, ^(A)remain outside the camp seven days; whoever has killed any person, and ^(B)whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves and your captives on the third day and on the seventh day.

^44 (A)Woe to you, ^[a]scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ^(B)For you are like graves which are not seen, and the men who walk over them are not aware of them.”

^11 (A)‘He who touches the dead ^[a]body of anyone shall be unclean seven days.

The Burial of Gog

¹¹ “It will come to pass in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it the Valley of ^[a]Hamon Gog. ¹² For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, ^(A)in order to cleanse the land. ¹³ Indeed all the people of the land will be burying, and they will gain ^(B)renown for it on the day that ^(C)I am glorified,” says the Lord God. ¹⁴ “They will set apart men regularly employed, with the help of ^[b]a search party, to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order ^(D)to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. ¹⁵ The search party will pass through the land; and when anyone sees a man’s bone, he shall ^[c]set up a marker by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog. ¹⁶ The name of the city will also be ^[d]Hamonah. Thus they shall ^(E)cleanse the land.” ’
