³ They shall attend to your ^[a]needs and ^(A)all the needs of the tabernacle; ^(B)but they shall not come near the articles of the sanctuary and the altar, ^(C)lest they die—they and you also.

¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then ^(A)the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; ^(B)but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die.

“^(C)These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.

⁴⁰ to be a ^[a]memorial to the children of Israel ^(A)that no outsider, who is not a descendant of Aaron, should come near to offer incense before the Lord, that he might not become like Korah and his companions, just as the Lord had said to him through Moses.

¹⁹ but do this in regard to them, that they may live and not die when they approach ^(A)the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and ^[a]appoint each of them to his service and his task. ^20 (B)But they shall not go in to watch while the holy things are being covered, lest they die.”

³⁶ And ^(A)the appointed duty of the children of Merari included the boards of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, its utensils, all the work relating to them,

^31 (A)Their duty included ^(B)the ark, ^(C)the table, ^(D)the lampstand, ^(E)the altars, the utensils of the sanctuary with which they ministered, ^(F)the screen, and all the work relating to them.

^25 (A)The duties of the children of Gershon in the tabernacle of meeting included ^(B)the tabernacle, ^(C)the tent with ^(D)its covering, ^(E)the screen for the door of the tabernacle of meeting,

⁷ Therefore ^(A)you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything at the altar and ^(B)behind the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood to you as a ^(C)gift for service, but the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

^51 (A)And when the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it ^(B)up. ^(C)The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.
