² Also bring with you your brethren of the ^(A)tribe of Levi, the tribe of your father, that they may be ^(B)joined with you and serve you while you and your sons are with you before the tabernacle of ^[a]witness.

³⁴ She conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called ^[a]Levi.

^15 (A)“But the priests, the Levites, ^(B)the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary ^(C)when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near Me to minister to Me; and they ^(D)shall stand before Me to offer to Me the ^(E)fat and the blood,” says the Lord God.

¹⁶ They stood in their ^(A)place ^[a]according to their custom, according to the Law of Moses the man of God; the priests sprinkled the blood received from the hand of the Levites.

³⁹ and Zadok the priest and his brethren the priests, ^(A)before the tabernacle of the Lord ^(B)at the ^[a]high place that was at Gibeon, ⁴⁰ to offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly ^(C)morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel;

⁴ They shall be joined with you and attend to the needs of the tabernacle of meeting, for all the work of the tabernacle; ^(A)but an outsider shall not come near you.

⁷ And Moses placed the rods before the Lord in ^(A)the tabernacle of witness.

⁴⁰ to be a ^[a]memorial to the children of Israel ^(A)that no outsider, who is not a descendant of Aaron, should come near to offer incense before the Lord, that he might not become like Korah and his companions, just as the Lord had said to him through Moses.

^22 (A)After that the Levites went in to do their work in the tabernacle of meeting before Aaron and his sons; ^(B)as the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
