¹⁴ Therefore hear the word of the Lord,^(A) you scoffers^(B)
    who rule this people in Jerusalem.

¹² Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
    but humility comes before honor.^(A)

¹⁸ Pride^(A) goes before destruction,
    a haughty spirit^(B) before a fall.^(C)

¹⁰ Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor,
    and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.^(A)
11 Unleash the fury of your wrath,^(B)
    look at all who are proud and bring them low,^(C)

⁴ His wisdom^(A) is profound, his power is vast.^(B)
    Who has resisted^(C) him and come out unscathed?^(D)
