³⁹ When Moses reported the Lord’s words to all the Israelites, the people were filled with grief.

⁴ When the people heard these stern words, they went into mourning and stopped wearing their jewelry and fine clothes.

¹⁷ You know that afterward, when he wanted his father’s blessing, he was rejected. It was too late for repentance, even though he begged with bitter tears.

¹² But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
