⁷ Not so with ^(A)my servant Moses. ^(B)He is faithful in all my house.

² who was faithful to him who appointed him, ^(A)just as Moses also was faithful in all God's^[a] house. ³ For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. ⁴ (For every house is built by someone, but ^(B)the builder of all things is God.) ^5 (C)Now Moses was faithful in all God's house ^(D)as a servant, ^(E)to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, ⁶ but Christ is faithful over God's house as ^(F)a son. And ^(G)we are his house, if indeed we ^(H)hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.^[b]

God Commissions Joshua

1 After the death of Moses the ^(A)servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' ^(B)assistant,

⁴ As you come to him, a living stone ^(A)rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, ^5 (B)you yourselves like living stones are being built up as ^(C)a spiritual house, to be ^(D)a holy priesthood, ^(E)to offer spiritual sacrifices ^(F)acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.

² Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

³¹ When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and as he drew near to look, there came the voice of the Lord:

²² Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you ^(A)a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen ^(B)to him in whatever he tells you. ²³ And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet ^(C)shall be destroyed from the people.’
