²⁹ But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? ^(A)Would that all the Lord's people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

⁵ Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but ^(A)even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

⁹ Do not grumble against one another, brothers, ^(A)so that you may not be judged; behold, ^(B)the Judge is standing ^(C)at the door.

⁵ Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit ^(A)that he has made to dwell in us”?

^2 (A)And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. ^(B)Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

^37 (A)Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; ³⁸ therefore ^(B)pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to ^(C)send out laborers into his harvest.”

¹⁴ But if you have bitter ^(A)jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. ¹⁵ This is not ^(B)the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, ^(C)demonic.

³ Do nothing from ^(A)selfish ambition or ^(B)conceit, but in ^(C)humility count others more significant than yourselves.

A Living Stone and a Holy People

2 ^(A)So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

^15 (A)Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. ¹⁶ The latter do it out of love, ^(B)knowing that I am put here for ^(C)the defense of the gospel. ¹⁷ The former proclaim Christ ^(D)out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. ¹⁸ What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.
