²⁹ Now Moses said to ^(A)Hobab the son of ^(B)Reuel^[a] the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said, ^(C)‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and ^(D)we will treat you well; for ^(E)the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

^7 (A)Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, ^(B)“To your ^[a]descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an ^(C)altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

¹¹ Now Heber ^(A)the Kenite, of the children of ^(B)Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites and pitched his tent near the terebinth tree at Zaanaim, ^(C)which is beside Kedesh.

3 Now Moses was tending the flock of ^(B)Jethro his father-in-law, ^(C)the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to ^(D)Horeb, ^(E)the mountain of God.

¹⁸ When they came to ^(A)Reuel^[a] their father, ^(B)he said, “How is it that you have come so soon today?”

⁷ I will ^(A)take you as My people, and ^(B)I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out ^(C)from under the burdens of the Egyptians. ⁸ And I will bring you into the land which I ^(D)swore^[a] to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the Lord.’ ”

⁸ So ^(A)I have come down to ^(B)deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land ^(C)to a good and large land, to a land ^(D)flowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^(E)the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

¹² For ^(A)You said, ‘I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the ^(B)sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’ ”

¹⁷ And the Spirit and ^(A)the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” ^(B)And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
