²⁴ From the ^(A)children of Gad, their genealogies by their families, by their fathers’ house, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, all who were able to go to war:

¹⁵ The sons of Gad according to their families were: of ^[a]Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites; ¹⁶ of ^[b]Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites; ¹⁷ of ^[c]Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites. ¹⁸ These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered of them: forty thousand five hundred.

¹⁴ “Then comes the tribe of Gad, and the leader of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of ^[a]Reuel.” ¹⁵ And his army was numbered at forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶ The sons of Gad were ^[a]Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, ^[b]Ezbon, Eri, ^[c]Arodi, and Areli.

¹⁰ And Leah’s maid Zilpah bore Jacob a son. ¹¹ Then Leah said, ^[a]“A troop comes!” So she called his name ^[b]Gad.
