Balaam Foretells the Happiness of Israel

24 Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel, he did not go as at ^(A)other times, to seek to use ^[a]sorcery, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

³ Then Balaam said to Balak, ^(A)“Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps the Lord will come ^(B)to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will tell you.” So he went to a desolate height.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of ^(A)Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, ^(B)to eat things sacrificed to idols, ^(C)and to commit sexual immorality.

¹⁶ Look, ^(A)these women caused the children of Israel, through the ^(B)counsel of Balaam, to trespass against the Lord in the incident of Peor, and ^(C)there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord.
