9 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, dans le désert de Sinaï, le premier mois de la seconde année après leur sortie du pays d'Égypte.
2 Il dit: Que les enfants d'Israël célèbrent la Pâque au temps fixé.
3 Vous la célébrerez au temps fixé, le quatorzième jour de ce mois, entre les deux soirs; vous la célébrerez selon toutes les lois et toutes les ordonnances qui s'y rapportent.
4 Moïse parla aux enfants d'Israël, afin qu'ils célébrassent la Pâque.
5 Et ils célébrèrent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois, entre les deux soirs, dans le désert de Sinaï; les enfants d'Israël se conformèrent à tous les ordres que l'Éternel avait donnés à Moïse.
6 Il y eut des hommes qui, se trouvant impurs à cause d'un mort, ne pouvaient pas célébrer la Pâque ce jour-là. Ils se présentèrent le même jour devant Moïse et Aaron;
7 et ces hommes dirent à Moïse: Nous sommes impurs à cause d'un mort; pourquoi serions-nous privés de présenter au temps fixé l'offrande de l'Éternel au milieu des enfants d'Israël?
8 Moïse leur dit: Attendez que je sache ce que l'Éternel vous ordonne.
9 Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
10 Parle aux enfants d'Israël, et dis-leur: Si quelqu'un d'entre vous ou de vos descendants est impur à cause d'un mort, ou est en voyage dans le lointain, il célébrera la Pâque en l'honneur de l'Éternel.
11 C'est au second mois qu'ils la célébreront, le quatorzième jour, entre les deux soirs; ils la mangeront avec des pains sans levain et des herbes amères.
12 Ils n'en laisseront rien jusqu'au matin, et ils n'en briseront aucun os. Ils la célébreront selon toutes les ordonnances de la Pâque.
13 Si celui qui est pur et qui n'est pas en voyage s'abstient de célébrer la Pâque, celui-là sera retranché de son peuple; parce qu'il n'a pas présenté l'offrande de l'Éternel au temps fixé, cet homme-là portera la peine de son péché.
14 Si un étranger en séjour chez vous célèbre la Pâque de l'Éternel, il se conformera aux lois et aux ordonnances de la Pâque. Il y aura une même loi parmi vous, pour l'étranger comme pour l'indigène.
15 Le jour où le tabernacle fut dressé, la nuée couvrit le tabernacle, la tente d'assignation; et, depuis le soir jusqu'au matin, elle eut sur le tabernacle l'apparence d'un feu.
16 Il en fut continuellement ainsi: la nuée couvrait le tabernacle, et elle avait de nuit l'apparence d'un feu.
17 Quand la nuée s'élevait de dessus la tente, les enfants d'Israël partaient; et les enfants d'Israël campaient dans le lieu où s'arrêtait la nuée.
18 Les enfants d'Israël partaient sur l'ordre de l'Éternel, et ils campaient sur l'ordre de l'Éternel; ils campaient aussi longtemps que la nuée restait sur le tabernacle.
19 Quand la nuée restait longtemps sur le tabernacle, les enfants d'Israël obéissaient au commandement de l'Éternel, et ne partaient point.
20 Quand la nuée restait peu de jours sur le tabernacle, ils campaient sur l'ordre de l'Éternel, et ils partaient sur l'ordre de l'Éternel.
21 Si la nuée s'arrêtait du soir au matin, et s'élevait le matin, ils partaient. Si la nuée s'élevait après un jour et une nuit, ils partaient.
22 Si la nuée s'arrêtait sur le tabernacle deux jours, ou un mois, ou une année, les enfants d'Israël restaient campés, et ne partaient point; et quand elle s'élevait, ils partaient.
23 Ils campaient sur l'ordre de l'Éternel, et ils partaient sur l'ordre de l'Éternel; ils obéissaient au commandement de l'Éternel, sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par Moïse.

9 (iii) Adonai spoke to Moshe in the Sinai Desert in the first month of the second year after they had left the land of Egypt; he said, 2 “Let the people of Isra’el observe Pesach at its designated time. 3 On the fourteenth day of this month, at dusk, you are to observe it — at its designated time. You are to observe it according to all its regulations and rules.” 4 Moshe told the people of Isra’el to observe Pesach. 5 So they observed Pesach at dusk on the fourteenth day of the month in the Sinai Desert; the people of Isra’el acted in accordance with all that Adonai had ordered Moshe.
6 But there were certain people who had become unclean because of someone’s corpse, so that they could not observe Pesach on that day. So they came before Moshe and Aharon that day 7 and said to him, “We are unclean because of someone’s corpse; but why must we be kept from bringing the offering for Adonai at the time designated for the people of Isra’el?” 8 Moshe answered them, “Wait, so that I can hear what Adonai will order concerning you.” 9 Adonai said to Moshe, 10 “Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘If any of you now or in future generations is unclean because of a corpse, or if he is on a trip abroad, nevertheless he is to observe Pesach. 11 But he will observe it in the second month on the fourteenth day at dusk. They are to eat it with matzah and maror, 12 they are to leave none of it until morning, and they are not to break any of its bones — they are to observe it according to all the regulations of Pesach. 13 But the person who is clean and not on a trip who fails to observe Pesach will be cut off from his people; because he did not bring the offering for Adonai at its designated time, that person will bear the consequences of his sin. 14 If a foreigner is staying with you and wants to observe Pesach for Adonai, he is to do it according to the regulations and rules of Pesach — you are to have the same law for the foreigner as for the citizen of the land.’”
(iv) 15 On the day the tabernacle was put up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, that is, the tent of the testimony; and in the evening, over the tabernacle was what appeared to be fire, which remained until morning. 16 So the cloud always covered it, and it looked like fire at night. 17 Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tent, the people of Isra’el continued their travels; and they camped wherever the cloud stopped. 18 At the order of Adonai, the people of Isra’el traveled; at the order of Adonai, they camped; and as long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they stayed in camp. 19 Even when the cloud remained on the tabernacle for a long time, the people of Isra’el did what Adonai had charged them to do and did not travel. 20 Sometimes the cloud was a few days over the tabernacle; according to Adonai’s order, they remained in camp; and according to Adonai’s order, they traveled. 21 Sometimes the cloud was there only from evening until morning; so that when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they traveled. Or even if it continued up both day and night, when the cloud was up, they traveled. 22 Whether it was two days, a month or a year that the cloud remained over the tabernacle, staying on it, the people of Isra’el remained in camp and did not travel; but as soon as it was taken up, they traveled. 23 At Adonai’s order, they camped; and at Adonai’s order, they traveled — they did what Adonai had charged them to do through Moshe.

9 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season.
3 In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.
4 And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover.
5 And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
6 And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day:
7 And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the Lord in his appointed season among the children of Israel?
8 And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the Lord will command concerning you.
9 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the Lord.
11 The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
12 They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.
13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the Lord in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
14 And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the Lord; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.
15 And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.
16 So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
17 And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.
18 At the commandment of the Lord the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the Lord they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.
19 And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the Lord, and journeyed not.
20 And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the Lord they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the Lord they journeyed.
21 And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
22 Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.
23 At the commandment of the Lord they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the Lord they journeyed: they kept the charge of the Lord, at the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

The Passover Celebrated
9 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, (A)in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 “Let the people of Israel keep the Passover at its appointed time. 3 (B)On the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, you shall keep it at its appointed time; according to all its statutes and all its rules you shall keep it.” 4 So Moses told the people of Israel that they should keep the Passover. 5 And they kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, in the wilderness of Sinai; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so the people of Israel did. 6 And there were certain men who were (C)unclean through touching a dead body, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and (D)they came before Moses and Aaron on that day. 7 And those men said to him, “We are unclean through touching a dead body. Why are we kept from bringing the Lord's (E)offering at its appointed time among the people of Israel?” 8 And Moses said to them, “Wait, that (F)I may hear what the Lord will command concerning you.”
9 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 10 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, If any one of you or of your descendants is unclean through touching a dead body, or is on a long journey, he shall still keep the Passover to the Lord. 11 (G)In the second month on the fourteenth day at twilight they shall keep it. The Cloud Covering the Tabernacle
15 (O)On the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony. And (P)at evening it was over the tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning. 16 So it was always: the cloud covered it by day[a] and the appearance of fire by night. 17 And whenever the cloud (Q)lifted from over the tent, after that the people of Israel set out, and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the people of Israel camped. 18 At the command of the Lord the people of Israel set out, and at the command of the Lord they camped. (R)As long as the cloud rested over the tabernacle, they remained in camp. 19 Even when the cloud continued over the tabernacle many days, the people of Israel (S)kept the charge of the Lord and did not set out. 20 Sometimes the cloud was a few days over the tabernacle, and according to the command of the Lord they remained in camp; then according to the command of the Lord they set out. 21 And sometimes the cloud remained from evening until morning. And when the cloud lifted in the morning, they set out, or if it continued for a day and a night, when the cloud lifted they set out. 22 Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel (T)remained in camp and did not set out, but when it lifted they set out. 23 At the command of the Lord they camped, and at the command of the Lord they set out. (U)They kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by Moses.
