34 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
2 Donne cet ordre aux enfants d'Israël, et dis-leur: Quand vous serez entrés dans le pays de Canaan, ce pays deviendra votre héritage, le pays de Canaan, dont voici les limites.
3 Le côté du midi commencera au désert de Tsin près d'Édom. Ainsi, votre limite méridionale partira de l'extrémité de la mer Salée, vers l'orient;
4 elle tournera au sud de la montée d'Akrabbim, passera par Tsin, et s'étendra jusqu'au midi de Kadès Barnéa; elle continuera par Hatsar Addar, et passera vers Atsmon;
5 depuis Atsmon, elle tournera jusqu'au torrent d'Égypte, pour aboutir à la mer.
6 Votre limite occidentale sera la grande mer: ce sera votre limite à l'occident.
7 Voici quelle sera votre limite septentrionale: à partir de la grande mer, vous la tracerez jusqu'à la montagne de Hor;
8 depuis la montagne de Hor, vous la ferez passer par Hamath, et arriver à Tsedad;
9 elle continuera par Ziphron, pour aboutir à Hatsar Énan: ce sera votre limite au septentrion.
10 Vous tracerez votre limite orientale de Hatsar Énan à Schepham;
11 elle descendra de Schepham vers Ribla, à l'orient d'Aïn; elle descendra, et s'étendra le long de la mer de Kinnéreth, à l'orient;
12 elle descendra encore vers le Jourdain, pour aboutir à la mer Salée. Tel sera votre pays avec ses limites tout autour.
13 Moïse transmit cet ordre aux enfants d'Israël, et dit: C'est là le pays que vous partagerez par le sort, et que l'Éternel a résolu de donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu.
14 Car la tribu des fils de Ruben et la tribu des fils de Gad ont pris leur héritage, selon les maisons de leurs pères; la demi-tribu de Manassé a aussi pris son héritage.
15 Ces deux tribus et la demi-tribu ont pris leur héritage en deçà du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, du côté de l'orient.
16 L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
17 Voici les noms des hommes qui partageront entre vous le pays: le sacrificateur Éléazar, et Josué, fils de Nun.
18 Vous prendrez encore un prince de chaque tribu, pour faire le partage du pays.
19 Voici les noms de ces hommes. Pour la tribu de Juda: Caleb, fils de Jephunné;
20 pour la tribu des fils de Siméon: Samuel, fils d'Ammihud;
21 pour la tribu de Benjamin: Élidad, fils de Kislon;
22 pour la tribu des fils de Dan: le prince Buki, fils de Jogli;
23 pour les fils de Joseph, -pour la tribu des fils de Manassé: le prince Hanniel, fils d'Éphod; -
24 et pour la tribu des fils d'Éphraïm: le prince Kemuel, fils de Schiphtan;
25 pour la tribu des fils de Zabulon: le prince Élitsaphan, fils de Parnac;
26 pour la tribu des fils d'Issacar: le prince Paltiel, fils d'Azzan;
27 pour la tribu des fils d'Aser: le prince Ahihud, fils de Schelomi;
28 pour la tribu des fils de Nephthali: le prince Pedahel, fils d'Ammihud.
29 Tels sont ceux à qui l'Éternel ordonna de partager le pays de Canaan entre les enfants d'Israël.

34 1,2 De Here droeg Mozes op het volgende aan de Israëlieten door te geven: ‘Als u in het land Kanaän komt, het thuisland dat Ik u in bezit heb gegeven, 3 zal het zuidelijk deel van het land de woestijn Sin zijn, langs de rand van Edom. De zuidgrens begint in het oosten bij de Dode Zee, buigt daar af naar het zuiden 4 via de Schorpioenenpas naar de woestijn Sin. Het meest zuidelijke punt is Kades-Barnea en vandaar loopt de grens verder naar Chazar-Addar en Asmon. 5 Vanaf Asmon volgt de grens de beek van Egypte om ten slotte bij de Middellandse Zee te eindigen. 6 Uw westgrens wordt gevormd door de kustlijn van de Middellandse Zee. 7-9 Uw noordgrens begint bij de kust van de Middellandse Zee en loopt dan naar het oosten tot de berg Hor, daarna naar Hamat en verder via Sedad en Zifron naar Chasar-Enan. 10,11 De oostgrens loopt van Chasar-Enan naar het zuidelijk gelegen Sefam en vandaar verder naar Haribla, dat ten oosten van Aïn ligt. Daar maakt de grens een grote halve cirkel, eerst in zuidelijke en later in westelijke richting, tot hij het zuidelijke punt van het meer van Galilea raakt. 12 Daarna volgt hij de Jordaan tot aan de Dode Zee.’
13 ‘Dit is het land dat u met behulp van het lot onder elkaar moet verdelen,’ zei Mozes. ‘Het moet onder negen en een halve stam worden verdeeld, 14 want de stammen Gad, Ruben en de tak van Manasse hebben al land toegewezen gekregen 15 aan de oostzijde van de Jordaan, tegenover Jericho.’
16-28 En de Here zei tegen Mozes: ‘Dit zijn de namen van de mannen die Ik heb uitgekozen om de verdeling van het land te regelen: de priester Eleazar, Jozua, de zoon van Nun, en één leider van elke stam. Die laatsten zijn: voor de stam van Juda: Kaleb, de zoon van Jefunne; Simeon: Semuël, de zoon van Ammihud; Benjamin: Elidad, de zoon van Kislon; Dan: Bukki, de zoon van Jogli; Manasse: Channiël, de zoon van Efod; Efraïm: Kemuël, de zoon van Siftan; Zebulon: Elisafan, de zoon van Parnach; Issachar: Paltiël, de zoon van Azzan; Aser: Achihud, de zoon van Selomi; Naftali: Pedaël, de zoon van Ammihud.
29 Dit zijn de namen van de mannen die Ik heb uitgekozen als opzichters over de verdeling van het land tussen de stammen.’

34 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into (A)the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance—the land of Canaan to its boundaries. 3 (B)Your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom; then your southern border shall extend eastward to the end of (C)the Salt Sea; 4 your border shall turn from the southern side of (D)the Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and be on the south of (E)Kadesh Barnea; then it shall go on to (F)Hazar Addar, and continue to Azmon; 5 the border shall turn from Azmon (G)to the Brook of Egypt, and it shall end at the Sea.
6 ‘As for the (H)western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your western border.
7 ‘And this shall be your northern border: From the Great Sea you shall mark out your border line to (I)Mount Hor; 8 from Mount Hor you shall mark out your border (J)to the entrance of Hamath; then the direction of the border shall be toward (K)Zedad; 9 the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and it shall end at (L)Hazar Enan. This shall be your northern border.
10 ‘You shall mark out your eastern border from Hazar Enan to Shepham; 11 the border shall go down from Shepham (M)to Riblah on the east side of Ain; the border shall go down and reach to the eastern [a]side of the Sea (N)of Chinnereth; 12 the border shall go down along the Jordan, and it shall end at (O)the Salt Sea. This shall be your land with its surrounding boundaries.’ ”
13 Then Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: (P)“This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe. 14 (Q)For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and the half-tribe of Manasseh has received its inheritance. 15 The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan, across from Jericho eastward, toward the sunrise.”
The Leaders Appointed to Divide the Land
16 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 17 “These are the names of the men who shall divide the land among you as an inheritance: (R)Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun. 18 And you shall take one (S)leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance. 19 These are the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh; 20 from the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud; 21 from the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon; 22 a leader from the tribe of the children of Dan, Bukki the son of Jogli; 23 from the sons of Joseph: a leader from the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod, 24 and a leader from the tribe of the children of Ephraim, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan; 25 a leader from the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach; 26 a leader from the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan; 27 a leader from the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi; 28 and a leader from the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”
29 These are the ones the Lord commanded to [b]divide the inheritance among the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
