Jerusalem befolkas

(1 Krön 9:1-17)

11 Folkets ledare bosatte sig i Jerusalem, och det övriga folket kastade lott så att var tionde familj fick bosätta sig i Jerusalem, den heliga staden, medan de övriga nio fick bosätta sig i andra städer. Några flyttade frivilligt till Jerusalem och välsignades av folket.

Detta är huvudmännen i provinsen som bodde i Jerusalem (i Judas städer bodde var och en på sin egendom i sin stad, israeliter, präster, leviter, tempeltjänare och ättlingar till Salomos tjänare).

En del ättlingar till Juda och Benjamin bodde i Jerusalem.

Judas ättlingar:

Ataja, son till Ussia, son till Sakarja, son till Amarja, son till Shefatja, son till Mahalalel av Peres släkt; Maaseja, son till Baruk, son till Kol-Hose, son till Hasaja, son till Adaja, son till Jojariv, son till Sakarja av Shelas släkt. Peres släkt som bodde i Jerusalem utgjorde sammanlagt 468 vapenföra män.

Dessa var Benjamins ättlingar:

Sallu, son till Meshullam, son till Joed, son till Pedaja, son till Kolaja, son till Maaseja, son till Itiel, son till Jesaja, och efter honom Gabbaj och Sallaj[a], 928. Deras befälhavare var Joel, Sikris son, och Juda, Hassenuas son, var den näst högste befälhavaren i staden[b].

10 Präster:

Jedaja, Jojarivs son, Jakin, 11 Seraja, son till Hilkia, son till Meshullam, son till Sadok, son till Merajot, son till Achituv, föreståndaren för Guds hus, 12 och deras släktingar, som utförde arbetet i templet, 822, och Adaja, son till Jerocham, son till Pelalja, son till Amsi, son till Sakarja, son till Pashchur, son till Malkia, 13 och hans släktingar, familjeöverhuvuden, 242, och Amasaj, son till Asarel, son till Achsaj, son till Meshillemot, son till Immer, 14 och hans släktingar, tappra krigare, 128. Deras befälhavare var Savdiel, Haggedolims son.

15 Leviter:

Shemaja, son till Hashuv, son till Asrikam, son till Hashavja, son till Bunni, 16 Shabbetaj och Josavad, som ledde arbetena utanpå Guds hus och hörde till leviternas huvudmän. 17 Vidare Mattanja, son till Mika, son till Savdi, son till Asaf, som ledde lovsången och bönen, hans släkting Bakbukja, som var närmast honom; Avda, son till Shammua, son till Galal, son till Jedutun. 18 Sammanlagt fanns det 284 leviter i den heliga staden.

19 Dörrvakter var:

Ackuv, Talmon och andra ur deras släkt, som höll vakt vid portarna, 172.

20 Resten av israeliterna, prästerna och leviterna bodde i Juda städer där de hade sina arvslotter.

21 Tempeltjänarna bodde på Ofel, och Sicha och Gishpa var deras föreståndare.

22 Föreståndare för leviterna i Jerusalem var Ussi, son till Bani, son till Hashavja, son till Mattanja, son till Mika, en ättling till Asaf, han som ansvarade för sången i tjänsten i Guds hus. 23 För dem fanns en kunglig förordning utfärdad för deras dagliga tjänst.

24 Petachja, son till Meshesavel och ättling till Serach, Judas son, var kungens medhjälpare i allt som rörde folket.

25 När det gäller orter med omgivande åkrar, bodde en del av Judas ättlingar i Kirjat-Arba med kringliggande byar, Divon med kringliggande byar, Jekavseel och byarna runtomkring, 26 i Jeshua, Molada, Bet Pelet, 27 Hasar Shual, Beer Sheva med dess byar, 28 Siklag, Mekona med dess byar, 29 i En-Rimmon, Sora, Jarmut, 30 Sanoach, i Adullam och byarna runtomkring, Lakish med närliggande områden och Aseka med dess byar.

De slog sig ner från Beer Sheva till Hinnoms dal.

31 En del av Benjamins ättlingar bodde i Geva, Mikmas, Aja, Betel med kringliggande byar, 32 Anatot, Nov, Ananja, 33 Hasor, Rama, Gittajim, 34 Hadid, Sevoim, Nevallat, 35 Lod, Ono och i Timmermansdalen.

36 Från leviternas avdelningar fördes några över från Juda till Benjamin.

11 1 Who dwelled in Jerusalem after it was built,  20 and who in the cities of Judah.

And the rulers of the people dwelt in Jerusalem: the other people also cast lots, [a]to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to be in the cities.

And the people thanked all the men that were willing to dwell in Jerusalem.

These now are the chief of the province, that dwelt in Jerusalem, but in the cities of Judah, everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities of Israel, the Priests and the Levites, and the Nethinim, and the sons of Solomon’s servants.

And in Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin: Of the sons of Judah, Athaiah, the son of Uziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the sons of [b]Perez,

And Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of [c]Shiloni.

All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem, were four hundred threescore and eight valiant men.

These also are the sons of Benjamin, Sallu, the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.

And after him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred and twenty and eight.

And Joel the son of Zichri was governor over them: and Judah the son of Senuah was the second over the city:

10 Of the Priests, Jedaiah, the son of Joiarib, Jachin.

11 Seraiah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, [d]was chief of the house of God.

12 And their brethren [e]that did the work in the Temple, were eight hundred, twenty and two: and Adaiah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah:

13 And his brethren, chief of the fathers, two hundred and two and forty: and Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahazai, the son of Meshilemoth, the son of Immer:

14 And their brethren valiant men, an hundred and eight and twenty: and their overseer was Zabdiel the son [f]of Haggedolim.

15 And of the Levites, Shemaiah, the son of Hashub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni.

16 And Shabbethai, and Jozabad of the chief of the Levites were over the works of the house of God without.

17 And Mattaniah, the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph was the chief to [g]begin the thanksgiving and prayer: and Bakbukiah the second of his brethren, and Abda, the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred fourscore and four.

19 And the porters Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the [h]gates, were an hundred twenty and two.

20 And the [i]residue of Israel, of the Priests, and of the Levites dwelt in all the cities of Judah, everyone in his inheritance.

21 And the Nethinim dwelt in the [j]fortress, and Ziha, and Gispa was over the Nethinim.

22 And the overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha: of the sons of Asaph singers were over the work of the house of God.

23 For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that faithful provision should be for the singers every day.

24 And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah, the son of Judah [k]was at the king’s hand in all matters concerning the people.

25 And in the villages in their lands, some of the children of Judah dwelt in Kirjath Arba, and in the villages thereof, and in Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and in Jekabzeel, and in the villages thereof,

26 And in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and in Beth Pelet,

27 And in Hazar Shual, and in Beersheba, and in the villages thereof,

28 And in Ziklag, and in Mekonah, and in the villages thereof,

29 And in En Rimmon, and in Zorah, and in Jarmuth,

30 Zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, in Lachish, and in the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof: and they dwelt from Beersheba, unto the valley of Hinnom.

31 And the sons of Benjamin from Geba, in Michmash, and Aija, and Bethel, and in the villages thereof,

32 And Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

35 Lod and Ono, in the carpenters valley.

36 And of the Levites were divisions in Judah and in Benjamin.

And at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah; Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez;

And Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Colhozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni.

All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred threescore and eight valiant men.

And these are the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jesaiah.

And Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer: and Judah the son of Senuah was second over the city.

10 Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jachin.

11 Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, was the ruler of the house of God.

12 And their brethren that did the work of the house were eight hundred twenty and two: and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchiah.

13 And his brethren, chief of the fathers, two hundred forty and two: and Amashai the son of Azareel, the son of Ahasai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer,

14 And their brethren, mighty men of valour, an hundred twenty and eight: and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of one of the great men.

15 Also of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hashub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni;

16 And Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chief of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God.

17 And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer: and Bakbukiah the second among his brethren, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.

18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred fourscore and four.

19 Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren that kept the gates, were an hundred seventy and two.

20 And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.

21 But the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel: and Ziha and Gispa were over the Nethinims.

22 The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.

23 For it was the king's commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, due for every day.

24 And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabeel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people.

25 And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt at Kirjatharba, and in the villages thereof, and at Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and at Jekabzeel, and in the villages thereof,

26 And at Jeshua, and at Moladah, and at Bethphelet,

27 And at Hazarshual, and at Beersheba, and in the villages thereof,

28 And at Ziklag, and at Mekonah, and in the villages thereof,

29 And at Enrimmon, and at Zareah, and at Jarmuth,

30 Zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, at Lachish, and the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof. And they dwelt from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom.

31 The children also of Benjamin from Geba dwelt at Michmash, and Aija, and Bethel, and in their villages.

32 And at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

33 Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

34 Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

35 Lod, and Ono, the valley of craftsmen.

36 And of the Levites were divisions in Judah, and in Benjamin.

The People Dwelling in Jerusalem

11 Now the leaders of the people dwelt at Jerusalem; the rest of the people cast lots to bring one out of ten to dwell in Jerusalem, (A)the holy city, and nine-tenths were to dwell in other cities. And the people blessed all the men who (B)willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem.

(C)These are the heads of the province who dwelt in Jerusalem. (But in the cities of Judah everyone dwelt in his own possession in their cities—Israelites, priests, Levites, (D)Nethinim, and (E)descendants of Solomon’s servants.) Also (F)in Jerusalem dwelt some of the children of Judah and of the children of Benjamin.

The children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of (G)Perez; and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Col-Hozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni. 19 Moreover the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren who kept the gates, were one hundred and seventy-two.

20 And the rest of Israel, of the priests and Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, everyone in his inheritance. 21 (M)But the Nethinim dwelt in Ophel. And Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nethinim.

22 Also the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha, of the sons of Asaph, the singers in charge of the [e]service of the [f]house of God. 23 For (N)it was the king’s command concerning them that a [g]certain portion should be for the singers, a quota day by day. 24 Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of (O)Zerah the son of Judah, was (P)the[h] king’s deputy in all matters concerning the people.

The People Dwelling Outside Jerusalem

25 And as for the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt in (Q)Kirjath Arba and its villages, Dibon and its villages, Jekabzeel and its villages; 26 in Jeshua, Moladah, Beth Pelet, 27 Hazar Shual, and Beersheba and its villages; 28 in Ziklag and Meconah and its villages; 29 in En Rimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth, 30 Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages; in Lachish and its fields; in Azekah and its villages. They dwelt from Beersheba to the Valley of Hinnom.

31 Also the children of Benjamin from Geba dwelt in Michmash, Aija, and Bethel, and their villages; 32 in Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah; 33 in Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim; 34 in Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat; 35 in Lod, Ono, and (R)the Valley of Craftsmen. 36 Some of the Judean divisions of Levites were in Benjamin.
